The young girl arrived some minutes later with the baby. Amanda took her from the girl and tried to sooth her and she cried loudly.

They said their heartfelt thank you to the woman and left.
When they got to the car, Amanda paused to ask," what should we do about Anita?"

"What we've already done, leave her here. She'll find her way home, wherever that is now," He shrugged, clearly not bothered," come on, let's go home"

She got into the car with him and they drove away.
She turned around briefly and saw Anita standing a few feet away as she watched them leave, her arms folded over her chest in a defiant stance.

Amanda and Frederick arrived home. They were happy-and very tired-that they had finally got their child back. Amanda asked the housemaid to bring her son and she did.

They sat in the living room with her holding the baby girl and Frederick with the baby boy.

"Now,we don't just have a child. We have two children" Amanda said, smiling," if I'd been just a little bit more patient, and prayed harder,we wouldn't have gone through all this trouble. You would've been able to watch our son grow in my belly, you would have been there with me on the day he was born" she sighed.

"Cheer up. Don't blame yourself. We have our happy ending, that's what matters." Frederick said.

She nodded," I wonder if Anita will accept defeat or strike again"

"If she fights back, God is on our side. And I'll make sure she lands in jail this time" he said and smiled.
She laughed.

Anita walked into her sister's flat in silence. She ignored her questions and enquiries and only managed to say,"I'm fine" before heading straight to the room and locking herself in the bathroom.

"Anita, please, just tell me what's going on!" Guiliana called out.

"I'm okay, just leave me alone!" Anita yelled.

"Are you sure?"

"Just go,for God's sake! Please, I need to be alone! Just go!"

There was a moment of silence before she heard Guiliana retreating to the parlour.

She sat with her back resting on the wall and suddenly, she began to cry.
She couldn't tell why because a lot of emotions were chunning inside her.

She had been humiliated and defeated. She felt like she'd never be able to look herself in the mirror again, because she hated herself so much at the moment.

How did things turn out like this? She should have fought for Frederick's love earlier, before he married Amanda.

She saw a second chance in Amanda's desperation and went for it,but she lost. She shouldn't have even tried.

Something had told her it'll end like this, but she didn't listen.
And now she'd been rejected, upon all her plans and even her charms.

She screamed and kicked her legs in anger and pain.

"He rejected me. He rejected my love,"she cried," even when I forced it on him,he found a way to reject it! He treats her better than me. I'm better than her,yet he prefers her! He always preferred her!"

Resting her head in her palms, she sobbed.

"Why couldn't he fall in love with me?!"
She yelled.

Standing to her feet she unlocked the bathroom door and staggered to the room.
An aroma made its way to her nostrils and she realized her sister must be cooking in the kitchen.

She walked over to the bedside table and looked around. Just as she'd assumed, there was a kitchen knife lying there beside an orange, her sister's favourite fruit.

Picking up the knife with newfound resolve, she brought it to her jugular.

Just then, Guiliana walked in.
She saw her sister standing there in her room, with a knife over her own throat and her eyes red and filled with tears.

"Anita,what are you-"

Quickly, before she'd talk her out of it, Anita tightened her grip on the knife and drew it across her neck, successfully slitting her own throat.

Guiliana screamed. She watched as Anita dropped to the ground with blood gushing out of her neck.

"Anita! Anita! No,please, Anita!" She rushed to her and placed a hand over her neck to try and stop the bleeding.

"Anita! Talk to me!"
She felt hot tears in her eyes.

Anita slowly brought a hand to rest on Guiliana's as she stared blankly at her.

"Anita!" She sobbed.

But, Anita didn't say anything. She couldn't. She was already gone
