Classes started and I easily fell back into my Hogwarts routine.
In the second week of classes I woke up early Monday morning. Today was quidditch tryouts for Slytherin and Scorpius asked me to get up early to meet him for breakfast and help calm his nerves and review flying techniques.

I got out of bed and slowly got ready. I put on my robes and tied my blue tie loose around my neck before making my way to the Great Hall. The tables are scattered with a few students, most students still sleeping in their dormitories.
I spot Scorpius at his usual spot at the Slytherin table where he's usually accompanied by Albus, but he's now alone.
I walk over and slide into the seat next to him.
"So you force me to wake up early to help but Albus gets to sleep in?" I ask, placing my head in my hands.

"First of all, Albus doesn't know quidditch like you and second of all there's no way he would get up a minute earlier than needed," Scorpius explains.

I nod my head realizing he's right. I glance over to see what he's reading and recognize the Seeker chapter of the newly published Quidditch book.
"Excited?" I ask.

"More so nervous... I'm lucky they have a spot open for a seeker, but I know I'm not the only one trying out for it," he says, not lifting his eyes from the book. "How many others are trying out for Ravenclaw seeker tomorrow?" He asks.

I sigh. I still hadn't told him about my conversation with the captain. I figured I better tell him before he starts questioning why I don't show up for the try outs which are scheduled for tomorrow.
"Scorpius, I actually..." I trail off for a moment. Maybe I shouldn't tell him. He's bound to make the Slytherin team and I don't want him to pretend not to be excited when he gets it because he feels bad for me.

He looks up from his book. "What did you say?"

"Um... I just asked if you wanted me to help you review flying techniques?"
----
"What do you mean you aren't trying out?" Rose exclaims.
We're in Potions and we're partners for making a Wiggenweld potion.

"I just told you, there's no spot for a seeker and I don't fancy any other positions. Hand me the Salamander blood please," I say while stirring the potion.
Rose sighs and hands me the bottle. "What did Scorpius say? You two were looking forward to competing with each other," She says.

"I didn't tell him," I say, squeezing droplets of the Salamander blood into the potion. "He has his tryouts today and I don't want him to be worried about me."

Rose rolls her eyes, "How noble of you," She says sarcastically.

I ignore her and pour the finished potion in a vial and hand it in to the Professor.
"What do you have next?" I ask Rose. I know her schedule better than I know mine, but I just want to change the subject of Quidditch.

"Transfiguration," She says, gathering her books. "Have fun at Charms."

We go our separate ways as I head to the Charms class.
I spot Albus and Scorpius ahead of me and run to catch up with them.

"Hi," I say, falling into step next to Albus.

"Oh thank God, someone who will talk to me," He says.

"What do you mean?"

"Scorpius has had his nose in that bloody Quidditch book all morning," Albus explains.

I look over at Scoprius who is ignoring our conversation as he moves his lips slightly mouthing the words in the book.

"Scoprius," I snap my fingers in front of his face and he finally looks up. "Scorpius if you pay attention to that book the rest of your life it may not be such a challenge for me to be top of our classes," I tease him.
