It felt as though second year went by in the blink of an eye.
I was once again packing my things to go home for the summer. But this year, I didn't carry the same dreadful feeling as last year when I was worried about spending so long with my parents.
See, this summer, I'm spending the last few weeks with the Potters.
After how fun Christmas was, I really can't wait. Ginny even said she'll take us to one of her Quidditch matches!
So, with knowing that, I was able to pack my bags with a smile knowing I'll be back with my friends quicker than ever.Me and my friends were now making our way to the train to go home for the summer.
"I just don't understand why she's spending all three weeks with you!" Says Rose."Because Rose, she's my dad's niece," Albus says rolling his eyes. "We've had this conversation one too many times now."
"Rose, don't worry I know you'll miss me, but I won't forget about you," I say sarcastically.
She crosses her arms and looks away.
I sigh and put my hand on her shoulder. "Seriously though Rose, I'll see you so much. We're going to the quidditch game together, remember! And I'm sure we'll be visiting the Burrow for family dinners and you'll be there!" I say trying to cheer her up.
"Well, I suppose," she says uncrossing her arms.I turn to say something to Scorpius when I notice he's no longer next to me, where he was moments ago.
I look behind me and see him trailing after us, a few steps away. I walk up to him and fall into step beside him.
"Hi," I smile softly.
"Hi.""Are you okay?' I ask.
"Just... nervous to see my mum. I got another letter from dad," he says looking down.
"What did it say?"
"She's doing worse. If summer wasn't starting up I'm sure dad would have pulled me out of school early. You know, so I could see her before she-" he stops mid sentence. He doesn't have to continue for us both to know what he meant.I sigh, not knowing what I can do to help my best friend. I simply place my hand in his and continue walking with him in silence towards the train.
After a few moments he looks down at our hands and looks back up at me.
"Let me guess, you haven't spoken to Cian?"
I look at him in confusion. Why is he bringing up Cian? I haven't spoken to him since our fight.
"Spoken to him about what?" I ask suspiciously.
He smiles and removes his hand from mine. "You'll see. But I think it's best he doesn't see us holding hands, or all my hard work will have gone to waste.""Scorpius, tell me what you did!" I exclaim. I pretend to be angry, but really I'm just happy to see Scorpius smile, I couldn't care less what he pulled.
"You'll see. Just make your way to the last compartment of the train," he says.I furrow my eyebrows in confusion as we step on the train and he pushes me the opposite direction of where we usually sit. I decide to just listen to him and make my way to the last compartment.
Once I finally reach it I see Cian sitting alone.
He notices me and waves.I open the compartment doors and sit across from him.
"Hi.""Hi Lannah," he looks down at his hands as he fidgets with them.
I wait a moment before speaking.
"Care to tell me why Scorpius pushed me here?" I ask.
Cian looks up at me and smiles slightly. "Scorpius is... nicer than I anticipated. I just hope he's honest too..." he says trailing off.
"Honest about what?" I begin getting frustrated, not knowing what Scorpius has done.
"He talked to me the other day. After our last exam. He told me you weren't lying. He told me you two are just friends. So, I told him to tell you to meet me here, so I could say sorry."I look at him for a moment, taking this in. Scorpius spoke to him for me?
"Well, I accept your apology. And honestly, I should be apologizing. I drifted away from you, and that wasn't right," I admit.
He smiles and turns red. "Obviously I accept your apology. Because even though I was so mad at you... I missed you."
