Lauren's POV:
Were having a family meeting which is not normal, but lets just see what happens and I hope it's not anything serious. I'm heading downstairs now with Dani behind me. We both sat down on the end of the couch right when dad and mom came in.
"Kids we have something important to tell you." Dad said.
"Well what is it?" I asked.
"Well we are adopting a child." Mom said.
Wow i'm surprised we are adopting a child. "Is it a boy or a girl, and how old is the kid?" Amy asked.
"It's a girl, and she's 12 and she just lost her family also shes coming tomorrow afternoon." Dad answered Amy's question.
"Were is she going to sleep." Lisa asked.
"The computer room." Dad replied.
"And shes going to public school, at Lakewood." Mom said.
--tomorrow--
She's about to come in like I think 15 minutes is what mom said. We already got her room all set up so she can unpack once she gets here without having to wait.
--15 minutes later--
Now shes pulling up the driveway, I hope shes nice, funny, and not a jerk. I heard the front door open and then mom called us to the top of the steps. "Girls this is lauren and she is a big fan of you guys." Mom said. lauren looked up at us, smiled and waved. We all smiled and waved back then we all looked at each other and we all said the same thing "I like her already."
"You can just take your bags up the stairs and to the door at the end of the hall." Mom told her. lauren walked up the stairs and passed us while saying hi, then going to her room.
-- 1 hour later-- dinner time--
We all came downstairs besides the other lauren, then mom noticed and told me to go get her. I walked up the stairs and opened the door to her new room and said. "It's time for dinner." She got up and thanked me for coming to get her, then she gave me a hug so I hugged back.
When we both got back downstairs I sat down next to Lisa and lauren sat down next to Nick at the end of the table. Katherine gave me my plate of food then a plate to lauren since we were the last ones down here to eat.
"So lauren what do you like to do?" Mom asked her.
"Well I like basketball, skate boarding, playing my ipod, and running around." She replied.
Wait she likes skateboarding, "I like skateboarding, hey maybe we can go skating after dinner." I said.
"Sure i'd love that." She told me.
--after dinner--
"lauren you coming?'' I called out up the stairs. "Yeah one sec." She called back. Apparently me and her have a lot in common, like playing our ipods, running around, and both searching on youtube.
She came down the stairs "I don't have a board though." She told me. "It's fine you can use my extra one." I replied.
We walked outside and grabbed my boards and started riding. We rode around then decided to go to the beach, we settled down on the beach and was talking until "Why did you guys adopt me?'' She asked me.
"What do you mean, why did we adopt you?'' I asked her.
''Like why did you all of a sudden decide to adopt me cause of how much people come in and pass by me and adopt somebody else?" She asked looking at me. "I don't really know about us adopting you until yesterday, so i've got no clue cause mom and dad didn't tell us.'' I told her.
"Oh okay." She said looking down.
"That's not what I meant." I said.
"I know." She told me.
"Hey we should probably head back home before mom gets worried." I said.
"Okay let's go." She replied.
We were riding home talking when a car was coming straight for me honking, then lauren jumped off her skateboard and pushed me out of the way. I landed on top of her somehow and when I looked down I saw her holding her head. I got up and helped her up when I saw a small cut on her face from sliding across on her face when we hit the ground.
"Are you alright?" I asked her.
"Yeah are you?" She asked me.
"I'm fine, and maybe we should just walk from here." I said grabbing my board while she was grabbing her board that I gave to her.
When we finally got home we walked in to be bombarded by mom hugging us and taking lauren to the bathroom to get the cut cleaned up. When everything died down we went to our rooms and went to sleep.
