Lauren's POV:
It's been pretty cool being a rookie and part of the team. But now it's pretty tense at the station because we have been receiving bomb threats and now we got a threat that there's a bomb in a car at the shopping center. So we will have to go there and watch for anything suspicious. So the bomb squad will be with us on standby if we run into the bomb.
Right now we are getting ready, and the chief wants us on the roof were we can see the whole shopping center. So we are packing up, binoculars, cameras, and all that stuff so we can see up close if we see anything suspicious. But the one thing i'm worried about is lauren since she's not a rookie then she's on the ground. Right then lauren walked by, "Hey lauren were you going?" I asked her.
"I have to grab my brand new vest that can help withstand a explosion if it goes off." She said walking to the back were all the vest and guns are.
"Okay, and be safe on the ground." I said.
"Don't worry about me, i'm just focussing on catching this guy so you guys don't have to worry." She said coming back while putting on the vest.
"Okay." I said laughing and then grabbing my gun and putting it in the holster on my belt.
"See you later." She said walking out the front door of the station.
I walked out to the car were all my sisters were and put all the cameras and stuff I gathered in the back. We drove to the mall and climbed the stairway to the main building so we can see the whole place. I saw lauren and she put in a earpiece so we can talk to her if we see something suspicious.
"Do you see anything suspicious?" lauren asked me when I was looking around through the binoculars.
"No not yet." I answered.
"Okay tell when you see anything." She told me walking around.
--couple minutes later--
I was looking through the binoculars still when I saw a guy heading towards a car while looking around trying to make sure nobody was looking. He went beside the car and put something on the bottom of it.
"Hey lauren, there's a guy at a car it's a red suv and it's right in front of you past foot locker." I said.
lauren walked over and passed foot locker, "Everybody get out of the way." lauren yelled.
"Put you're hands up!" She yelled pointing the gun at the guy.
"I will blow this thing right now, and it will kill you and me." The guy said almost pushing the button of the bomb detonator.
"You don't have to go down like this, we can stop this right now." lauren said putting her gun down.
"No i've come this far to just give up now." He said and he didn't notice that lauren was backing up each time.
"Put it down and put your hands above your head." lauren said calmingly. But that made him madder, "lauren back up and run." I warned her through the earpiece.
She backed up but didn't run, then the guy pushed the button and it sent the flying forward and it sent lauren flying backwards into a window of a store behind her. She didn't move the next couple minutes so me and my sisters climbed down the stairs, and ran to her. Just when she got up and was about fall back down. "lauren stay there we got the guy though he's dead." I told her because she was walking towards us and freaking out.
She put her hand on the back of her head and pulled it back and there was blood on her hand. "Guys lauren's head is bleeding." I shouted to them. lauren walked over to us and nearly fainted in front of us. "We need a ambulance." I told another officer, just then paramedics pulled me away and put lauren on a gurney then put her in the ambulance then they left.
--at the hospital--
The whole station was there waiting for the doctor to come out. I was on the phone talking to mom to calm her down because she saw it on the news. Once I convinced her not to come to the hospital, I hing up right when the doctor came out with lauren behind him.
"Hey guys." She said gently. Everybody looked up and looked at her, she had her arm wrapped, and a bandage on her head, and a couple cuts and bruises on her face.
"So lauren has a concussion, a few burns on her right arm, and cuts and bruises but other then that shes good to go." The doctor told us.
I hugged lauren with the rest of my sisters then the other officers joined in. Then we pulled away, "So you ready to go?" Lisa asked lauren.
"Yup ready as can be." lauren replied.
We walked out of the hospital and got in the van and drove home. When we got inside lauren went to her room and went to bed after she hugged the rest of the family who were gathered around the tv watching the news report of the explosion.
"Hey guys, i'm gonna go lay down." I said going up the stairs.
"Same here." The rest said coming behind me. I got in bed and went to sleep.
