Where the hell is she? Lin was sitting at the bench directly to the left of the statue of Korra at the park. Kya had told her to be there at exactly 8 p.m. Naturally, Lin had assumed that Kya would be just as punctual, but as 8:30 rolled around, she realized she may have been wrong. Suddenly, Lin felt someone approaching from behind her. In fact, they were running towards her. Lin kept facing the opposite direction. She was just about to turn around and strike them when she realized who the footsteps belonged to. Lin let them grab her by the waist and rest their head on her shoulder. "Sorry, I'm late, gorgeous," Kya's sultry voice filled Lin's ears.

Lin enjoyed the embrace for a brief period, and then she remembered she was supposed to be annoyed. She pulled away from the hug and turned to face Kya, "Where have you been? You said it was very important that I was on time, and you're the one who was late!"

"I'm sorry, I was getting everything set up, and I lost track of time. As soon as I realized I ran all the way here."

"Hmph," Lin grunted. Kya was telling the truth, Lin could tell she felt guilty. Also, losing track of time was definitely something Kya would do, "What exactly were you setting up?"

Kya bit her lip and smiled slightly, "Come with me," she said, grabbing Lin's hand.

Kya led Lin out of the park to a satomobile. She hopped in the driver's seat as Lin crawled in beside her. Kya drove them out of the city and after about 15 minutes, parked on the side of the road, and got out.

"What are you doing? Where are we?" As far as Lin could tell, they were in the middle of the woods.

"Come on," Kya said, she turned and walked into the forest.

Lin was slightly in shock, but as Kya faded out of sight, she got worried. I better go after her in case she dies or something. She was being sarcastic, but the thought of Kya getting hurt made Lin's stomach twist into knots. She leaped out of the car and ran into the woods after the waterbender, "Kya! Kya! Where are you?"

"I'm over here Lin."

Lin breathed a sigh of relief and followed the waterbenders voice. She stepped into a clearing. This had been what Kya was setting up. A red and white checkered picnic blanket laid on the ground to her left. Next to it was a basket filled with a bottle of wine, two glasses, cheese, and crackers. Lin looked to her right to see a watering hole, and in it, was Kya. Based off the clothes lying on the ground, Lin guessed Kya was naked. Instinctually, Lin whipped around, her cheeks glowing red. This must be a dream. A really, really, good dream...

"Lin," Kya said from behind her, "You can turn around you know."

Lin turned back towards Kya very slowly. Kya saw her blushing and smiled softly, "Come on in, it's really warm."

"I don't- I don't know about this Kya. I've never done this before."

"Who said we were gonna do anything? As far as I'm concerned, we're just going for a swim," Kya saw that Lin was still hesitant, "Lin, it's okay," she said softly, "I'll turn around while you get undressed."

Once Kya turned away, Lin bent her metal armor off and stripped down. She walked over to the edge of the pool and slowly sunk into the water.

"Can I turn around now?"

Lin suddenly felt brazen. I want to be with her, and spirits know I want to see her naked, so why am I so afraid for her to see me?  Wordlessly, Lin swam across the pool and embraced Kya from behind, resting her chin on the waterbenders shoulder. After a few seconds, Lin gently grabbed Kya by the upper arms and spun her around, so they were facing one another. Kya bit her lip, the quiet of this moment was killing her and exciting her all at once. Lin placed her hands on Kya's cheeks and pulled her into a long, passionate kiss. Kya's fingers caressed Lin's muscular back as Lin's lips moved to her neck.

Kya pulled away for a moment, "Is this...okay?"

"This is amazing. Now, come here."

---------------------------------------------------------

After enjoying their swim, the two women dried off and took a seat on the picnic blanket. As Kya poured her date a glass of wine, Lin said, "I have to say, this is the best date I've ever been on."

Kya giggled, "Is it fair to say I've outdone years of a relationship with Tenzin with just one date?"

"Spirits, you have, and it's not even close."

Kya's silly smile turned into a genuine grin, "I'm not surprised, I've always been the best sibling. If you had just realized that sooner, we could've been dating for years already." She handed Lin her glass and, before taking their first sip, clinked the glasses together.

"I wish I had. You are a lot more fun... And attractive."

The two women laughed. Kya leaned her head on Lin's shoulder as Lin wrapped her arm around Kya. They sat like that for a while, both of them enjoying the silence and the embrace. "It doesn't matter how long it took," Kya interrupted the quiet, "I'm just happy that it's happening now."

Lin grinned and pulled Kya into another deep kiss.

"Me too."
