Girlfriends

Lin woke up early, but she stayed in bed. She marveled at the woman who lay next to her, watching her inhale and exhale slowly as she slept and admiring her beauty. How did I get so lucky? Lin smiled softly. 

At around 8, Lin rose. She made her way to the kitchen where she began to make breakfast. After she had made 2 stacks of pancakes and scrambled eggs, she put a pot of tea on and went to wake Kya. Lin walked into her bedroom and found the waterbender exactly where she left her. She placed her hand on the small of Kya's back and lightly caressed her. "Kya," she whispered, so as not to startle her, "Kya, wake up. Breakfast is ready."

The silver-haired woman's eyes slowly opened, and simultaneously her lips curled up slightly. Lin placed a kiss on Kya's forehead, "Good morning," she said.

Kya pushed herself into a seated position on the bed, the blanket falling from her chest and allowing her breasts to be exposed. She saw Lin staring and pulled the earthbender down for a quick kiss. The two women rested their foreheads together and Kya said, "I'd say it's a great morning."

Lin grinned, "Any particular reason?" she asked, pulling away from the embrace and grabbing Kya a T-shirt from her own closet. 

"Hmmm... Let's see," Kya placed her hand on her chin and pretended to think, "I wake up to the most beautiful woman, and not only is she beautiful, but she made me breakfast. As for why your morning is great, well, it's only 8 o'clock, and you've already seen my tits."

Lin chuckled, "You're right, this is a great morning."

Lin left Kya in the bedroom to finish getting ready. She returned to the kitchen and plated their food. She sat down at the small table and began reading the newspaper. 

Kya walked very quietly from the bedroom in an attempt to surprise Lin from behind. She tip-toed behind the cheif's chair and wrapped her arms around the woman's waist, kissing her ear lightly. Lin put the paper down and smiled, "You know you can't sneak up on me right?"

"What do you mean?" Kya began to sit down across from Lin, pouring herself a cup of tea.

"Seismic sense? It's almost like you've forgotten who my mother is," Lin said sarcastically.

"Ohhhh," Kya looked down at her plate.

Lin noted the change in the waterbenders attitude, "Everything okay?"

Kya looked up, "I love surprising my partners, and I've never dated an earthbender before. I'm just realizing how hard it's going to be to surprise you."

Lin was shocked at the notion that Kya had never dated an earthbender. She had traveled all over the world and, from what Lin had gathered, had dated many, many women, "There are other ways to surprise me, you know... You've already surprised me in the short time we've been dating."

Kya raised an eyebrow, "Really? How have I surprised you?"

Lin leaned forward toward Kya and looked into her cerulean eyes, "Let's see. You are even more beautiful than I imagined, which is something because my imagination has been running wild since we were kids." Kya blushed hard as Lin continued, "Not to mention the sex. It's amazing. You're amazing, but not just your body." Kya's stomach filled with butterflies as her lips curled into a soft smile. "You... You make me so happy," Lin was struggling to put her feelings into words, "Ever since that first night, all I wanted to do was spend time with you. Even when I want to be alone, I want you to be there with me. You understand me like nobody else. You know exactly what I need, even when I don't know what I need. And you make me laugh, no one makes me laugh like you..." 

Kya was crying now, happy tears. She stood from the table and pulled Lin into her arms. Kya felt a few of Lin's tears fall onto her shoulder. They stood there for a while, enjoying the loving embrace. Kya kissed Lin on the forehead and held her face in between her hands. Lin was smiling softly, and she started to laugh nervously. 

"What's so funny?" Kya said without leaving the embrace.

"Nothing it's just... I just talked about my feelings, and cried."

Kya smiled wide, "Yeah, that happens sometimes," they rested their foreheads together.

"Kya?"

"Yeah?"

"Will you..." Lin hesitated, "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Lin didn't think it were possible, but Kya's smile grew even larger, "Hell, yes."

Kya pulled away from Lin and did a little happy dance, making Lin chuckle. The waterbender started prancing around the apartment, chanting, "I'm dating the chief! I'm dating the chief! I'm-" She was interrupted by Lin grabbing her wrist and pulling her into a deep, longing kiss.
