I touched his lips with my thumb as he looked at me and smiled. "You're so pretty." He made a confused face at me and laughed, "Pretty?"

"Yeah, you're prettier than me too."

"No one's prettier than you." He kissed my lips again and he hovered over me. My back against the soft material of my bed and his skin against mine.

I opened my mouth to say something, but his phone started to ring. "You want me to get it?" I asked. He shook his head and laid down on me. I ran my fingers through his hair and he rubbed the material of my shirt that was close to my skin.

"Jaden, do you want to know something?"

He nodded as he continued to close his eyes and smiled, "I-"

Ding. Ding. Ding.

"Just ignore it, go on."

"I was going to say-"

Ding. Ding. Ding.

"Jaden just check the phone." I grabbed it from my nightstand and gave it to him. He groaned and rolled over so that he was now laying on the bed. He looked at the screen annoyed and I was about to ask what was wrong, but he just put it back down. He smiled at me and laid his arm on my stomach, "Do you want to do anything?" He asked.

I shook my head and just got up from my bed, "No it's okay. I'm going to talk to Finn real quick and I'll come back."

He nodded his head and smiled, "Okay."

I opened the door to my room and walked down the stairs. I was halfway there when the doorbell rang. "I got it!"

I opened the door and my eyes widened at my sight, "Hey (Y/n)."

A slight fear in my eyes, but I pulled off a small fake smile, "It's not a good time Tyler." His eyes were still nice. A lighter brown than before, and I continued to look at him I remembered everything we did. Everything that happened, and everything about Connor.

"Actually someone called me, and I just wanted to make sure you we okay." He ran his hands through his short hair and smiled.

"Oh? It was probably Finn, he found out that you were going to the university ten minutes away from your mom, so maybe he was curious. Sorry." I looked into the living room and saw Finn laying down, his mouth was open and drool slipped onto his cheek as he took a nap.

"No, it wasn't Finn or your dad. He said his name was Jaden or something, it just seemed kind of sus so I was just checking on you." I looked at him confused and furrowed my eyebrows together.

"Oh."

"Yeah, but I better go." He smiled and rubbed the back of his neck, "Have a good day."

"Yeah, you too Tyler." I slightly smiled at him.

He raised his hand before I closed the door and I paused, "Can you try to convince my mom I'm not doing drugs again? She thinks I am and I know she'll listen to you, so it'd be great-"

"I didn't know you did that."

"Well I'm trying to stop..." He nodded, "For you." I didn't say anything, "Or Finn, or myself, anyone who's been around me." A small silence again but he always loved our awkward silences for some reason.

"Well I'll try to convince her, bye Tyler." I closed the door and he walked away from the front door. I turned around and felt my heartbeat fasten. I shook my head and looked up. Jaden stood there kind of nervous looking.

"I have to go, but I'll talk to you later-"

"Jaden, we need to talk."

"Sorry it's my mom, I'll see you later." He kissed my head and ran out the door, leaving me behind to stare at the door in silence.

"He's kind of acting sus." Finn said as we both watched the movie in front of us. He looked over at me with worried eyes and I sighed looking down at him.

"I know, but we aren't really dating so I can't say anything." I put my arm around him, "Did he ask you anything when I wasn't around?" His eyes widened a bit and he looked over at me.

"No, I don't think so." He gulped once and then again. Gulping, his sign of lying with also ruffling his hair but I guess he could only hold back one.

"Finn, don't lie." He looked down at his hands and sighed.

"But I don't want you to be mad at him."

"Why's that?" I asked. He looked over at me and smiled.

"Because then you're going to get worse again. You're going to stay in your room and be angry at everything." Hank pranced over to us and Finn ruffled his fur, "He makes you happy, the way Connor used to make you."

I pursed my lips together and felt guilt run in my mind, " I won't go there again, I promise." I kissed the side of his head and he continued to watch the movie. The guilt of disappearing after Connor's death, the guilt of my mom's behavior, and the guilt of not hanging out with him stuck with me all the time. I knew Finn suffered more when it came to everything, because he got so attached to everyone easily.

And when we came home from Connor's funeral, all he wanted to do was hang out with Tyler's mom. He knew what Tyler did, but he loved him like an older brother and that's why he hasn't stopped talking to his mom. Text messages popped up once in a while from Tyler on Connor's phone, but I never said anything. It wasn't my business.

I stared at the screen, his favorite movie was playing. One of the first SpongeBob movies. I looked down at Finn and ruffled his hair, he looked up at me with those beautiful uniquely slanted eyes and smiled.

I couldn't believe I was going to leave him all alone to deal with the many things that I wished for him to never know about and the things that made me feel the way I did before.
