"And then Finn just brought up Connor, and I didn't even want to be there anymore. I was feeling like crap and then Jaden is acting weird and I don't know what to do. I mean I don't want Finn to feel the way he does, but it's not his relationship."

"He's ten (Y/n), he's just trying to help." I looked over at Tyler who was putting another spoonful of ice cream into his mouth. His truck was parked in an empty parking lot and I was talking so much that my ice cream had already melted, but I needed to get things off my chest.

"I know, but he's not even the problem. It's Jaden and I don't know if he's hiding something from me or if I'm just insecure."

"Just talk to him, ask him all the questions you need to know, and don't let him leave without answering everything." He put down his now empty cup and moved his body to face me, "You need to figure out what or who he actually is. I mean you met this guy like a month or two ago?"

I nodded my head and he continued, "Then you're still in a process of getting to know him, just ask questions. I wish we had done that when everything happened."

I looked at him confused, "What do you mean? We talked about it."

"No, we yelled at each other and you cried most of the time because Connor was gone." He paused and then continued shorty, "You don't know everything I tried to do to help Connor, I mean yes he made me mad and sometimes I hated the way he looked at you, but when he told me for the first time that he was really struggling I stopped. I helped him a bit, but then the people I hung out with were messing with him."

I just sat there silent, not really wanting to hear it but I couldn't stop him. "I made him my friend, I tried I really did but he had been struggling for so long that I couldn't do anything." He slowly grabbed onto my hand and I didn't flinch. "He loved you as much as I did, he told me that right before he did it."

"I know, Finn tells me all the time." I felt uncomfortable talking about it all, "I'm sorry, but I can't talk about him anymore, he just makes me sad and I don't like remembering when I found him."

"It's fine." He looked down at our hands and looked at me, "Can we just stay like this?"

"What do you mean?"

"Can we act like how we used to, not like a couple but just as friends? How we used to laugh together and hang out. Tell people we were dating so we could get free roses for you." He said the last sentence which made me laugh and he did too. "Yeah like this, just for a little bit and then you can go disappear again."

I shook my head, "I'm not disappearing anymore."

"Good." He rubbed his thumb against the skin of my hand and looked at me with all the love we still had for each other.

(Jaden's POV)

Her swift movement of leaving made me have a pain in my chest, mainly in my head as I waited for her to come back. She didn't.

It was already five hours since. She left at around four something, and it was now nine thirty.

The clicks of her clock were filling my mind as I waited in her room. I constantly looked at the pictures on her wall. The ones of her family, friends, Connor.

I continued to be angry at myself for butting myself into business that wasn't mine, maybe I cared too much. But how could I not when the girl I met and wanted so bad made me happy, worried, and also feeling like I had to take care of her. Those simple thoughts in my head. She probably didn't like me thinking too much, she liked me as I was, I hope.

She was still not here. Did she stay at someone's house?

Should I call?

No. Maybe not. She needs space, right?"

"Jaden, you can leave now." I turned my head to looked at her. She looked at me with those (y/e/c) eyes, that (y/h/l)(y/h/c) hair that I liked to brush through lightly as she slept. I continued to stare at her, no movement in my body. Like as if I didn't hear a thing she said. "Jaden."

"Sorry." I stood up and grabbed my coat from her bed. She stood by her closet as we both looked at each other. We didn't talk, maybe I should say something. "I-"

"Finn's waiting for you downstairs, just tell him bye or whatever." She crossed her arms lazily.

"C'mon (Y/n)-"

"Jaden, it's not the hard to leave. The door is right there." She was giving up on us, but I wasn't. I wanted her to be by my side all the time. We couldn't just end like this.

"Just let me stay." I quickly said as she was looking away.

"Jaden, no."

"Please, just let me stay so I can talk to you. So I can show you the truth, so we can talk." Her foot tapped lightly onto the floor and I could tell she was biting her inner lip as she looked down at her foot.

She was going to cry. I was going to be the cause of it, and I felt like hugging her.

"Sit down." She said bluntly.

I sat down on her bed,"Okay." She moved closer to me and leaned close, our faces inches apart, her arms now leaning on the bed as she looked at me closely.

I looked down at her lips, but then quickly back at her eyes, "What's going on?" I asked quietly.

"You'll see."

I swallowed as she looked at me, I was kind of scared. I looked away and then back again.

"Jaden."

"Yes?"

"Yes?"
