Gulf's POV

Our daily lives returned to normal, well Mew did became a target by some groups but it never bothered him and surprised me by how actually he Is strong and can even become scary, except for that everything else was the usual, we manage to meet twice a week, either hanging out or lazing around at his place.

We still are searching for the weird language and reading books, I really enjoyed reading all kind of old tales and real historical unknown stories and lately I got attracted to some horror short novels that it's said that some are real about some underground cults and witchcrafts and black magic

"Gulf, come help me cutting the vegetables" mew called me from the kitchen I closed the book and walked next to him

"hey doctor do you believe in the power of black magic?" I asked him while cutting

"as a doctor those things are impossible to believe but I've read and even saw some videos about people using sinister and weird things to curse others and it also shows that it's effective and it can even cause death to the one being cursed"

"then maybe the watch has some kind of curse" he glanced to me then chuckled

"maybe, well even if it's cursed I'm going to keep treasuring it"

"why? You maybe get terribly hurt"

"I still consider it as a lucky charm, I mean it was passed down for many decades and it's well maintained and was kept safe which shows that the previous owners treasure it too, if it was really a death bringer, they would have threw it away"

"you're right"

"why are you suddenly asking this? Don't tell me you're still worried about me being targeted and all" he asked squinting his eyes a little

"yes I'm still a little worried but I also lately got hooked on those type of stories and they kept reminding me of the watch legend"

"stop worrying and forget about the watch, everything is fine" he assured me, it felt a little relieved hearing him but after the second accident I started to really believe in the watch's legend.

Mew's POV

I can't believe I was on the verge of death again, only three months apart from the first one but this time it was my carelessness that caused this...

It happened two days ago, 63 hours ago to be exact, our department got an emergency, it seem some accident happened while some detectives where catching a fugitive, me and another doctor were assigned to treat the injured fugitive under the watch of inspectors and police officers, it seem this criminal was dealing in stolen diamonds and now the head inspectors is questioning him

"where is the diamonds?" he asked while the wanted man kept his mouth shut, he was pale from losing blood and weak so I had to stay near them during the questioning

"hurry up and tell me where is the diamonds?!"

"I threw them away" he said looking away, obviously a lie

"I really don't care if you live or die so if you don't tell me I will personally get rid of piece of shit" the inspector looked dead serious which made me flinch but the fugitive stayed silent, suddenly the door flew open as my co-doctor got inside handing me some x-rays, I looked at them shocked then let out a small laugh making everyone stare at me
