Life Was So Much Easier When I Only Cared About Myself

3rd Person POV

Sadie and Raf are standing in the hallway, waiting for Landon so they can go to the assembly

Raf was staring into space when he gasps and Sadie looks over

"Hey, I thought I was the one who had the nightmares." Sadie says with a small laugh. She looks at Raf and he looks spooked. "Hey, you okay?" She asks, putting her hand on his arm

"Um, uh..." Raf stumbles over his words

"Attention, students." Dr Saltzman says over the speaker, cutting through their conversation. "Please make your way to morning assembly."

"Hey." Landon says, walking over. "You and Sadie want to sit with Hope and me at assembly today?"

"Uh, yeah, sure." Raf says

"Cool, okay." Landon says. He sees Hope and waves but Hope turns away. "Okay. Did you... ?" He turns to Raf but he leaves and Sadie turns her head in confusion 

"I'll go see what that's about," Sadie starts, nodding in Hope's direction. "If you go see what that's about." She says, nodding back in Raf's direction

"Deal." Landon says

Sadie and Landon pass each other, going after who they were supposed to check on

"I know you are all worried." Dr Saltzman announces in the assembly hall. Hope and Sadie sit next to each other, both quiet. "Believe me, no one is more worried than I am. My daughter Josie is still missing. But even as I speak, we're doing everything we can to find her. Jed and the wolves are attempting to track her. Kaleb and the vampires have compelled local police for any help that they can provide. We will find her and bring her home. That said, I just want to reiterate, under no circumstance should any of you approach her. While she is our family and friend, she is under the influence of black magic and... not herself. Your safety and Josie's is my top priority. I promise you I will get through to her and bring back the Josie we know and love safely. But first...we just have to find her."

There's a loud bang in the back and everyone looks to see the doors slam open and Dark Josie walk in

"I'm right here, Dad." Dark Josie says. "Well, don't look so shocked. Did you really think that I would miss my birthday?" She looks at Lizzie, touching her cheek. "Oh, I'm sorry, our birthday. So... what did I miss?"

"That's...that's crazy." Hope says and her and Sadie walk down the hall

"I know a lot is going on right now and the last thing I want to do is be a burden but--" Sadie starts before Hope abruptly stops in the hallway

"Stop that." Hope tells her. "Right now. You are not a burden for asking for something that can help you, okay? Now, walk me through this again."

"Emma basically called it a 'magical time out'." Sadie tells her as they start to walk down the hallway again. "Lizzie will siphon my magic from me, put it somewhere, and I don't need the cuffs anymore because I'll only be a wolf."

"Emma said it was safe?" Hope asks

"Yes." Sadie says, slowing down to a stop. "But, um, I'm the one who came up with the idea." Hope stops in front of Sadie, turning her head. "I wasn't born a hybrid, I was born a wolf. I think I need to go back to basics, get in touch with my wolf side and when I'm ready, I'll be a hybrid again."

"Okay." Hope says. "Whatever you need to get better I am 100% behind you."

There's commotion in the room next to them and they look in to see Kaleb pull MG from Dark Josie who was about to kill him
