3rd Person POV
SADIE: At the Salvatore School, the end of the year means different things to different people. For some it's about reunions. To others it means saying goodbye. Summer is a time to set out on new adventures, see the world, to grow in ways you never imagined. Everyone moves on. Except for those who have nowhere to go, the ones like me. My name is Sadie Nightshade...but you already knew that.
SADIE: Raf is currently stuck in permanent wolf form, Landon and I can't remember what the hell happened at the Malivore pit. Or so he thinks...in reality, I've been having dreams -- nightmares more like. They've been happening ever since Dr Saltzman picked us up that night we "destroyed" Malivore
SADIE: But I don't believe that for a second. There's no way Landon and I survived a battle against Malivore and are still alive
SADIE: But there's also no way I wouldn't remember -- my subconscious has always been different than everyone else's...I have to remember...I want to remember...I Hope I can remember....
SADIE: Welcome back to another...interesting year. Buckle up for the ride

Raf (in wolf form) walks in circles around Sadie in the abandoned house in the middle of the woods
Sadie sits on the floor in the middle of the room with her eyes closed and her legs crossed under her, concentrating
Landon arrives with meat on a tray
"Any luck?" Landon asks
Sadie sighs, opening her eyes and looking over
"No." She says, standing up and walking over to the grill where he throws meat on
"I thought hybrids could control when they change." Landon says
"Well...for some reason, I'm an exception." Sadie says. "I can't concentrate enough on anything right now." She says, ending her sentence with a yawn
"More nightmares?" Landon asks
"Yes." Sadie answers. "They're not just scary....they're starting to get annoying. If I have one more nightmare of a redhead jumping into an inky black lake....I'm gonna lose my mind."
"Wait a second." Landon says, looking at Sadie. "That's been your nightmares?"
"Don't make fun." Sadie says
"Sades, that pit could mean Malivore." Landon says
Sadie shrugs
A loud sizzle is heard
Landon looks over at the meat and it's...well it's on fire
"Ah!" Landon yelps. He turns the stove down. Raf lurks around. "I suck at this." He sighs
Sadie sits down on the stone next to the grill
"My best friend used to say he'd rather starve than eat anything I tried to make, but... you already know that." Landon tells Raf. He grabs the meat and tosses it to Raf. Raf eats. "I know you're in there, Raf. I'm gonna find a way to get you back, and then everything will be good again, okay? I'll never give up hope."
***
Sadie was cleaning up her bedroom when Landon walked in and stopped in the doorway
"Couldn't help but notice you didn't go home for the summer." Landon says
"Hard to go somewhere that doesn't exist." Sadie shrugs, putting a shirt on a hanger
"Ouch. Touche." Landon says
