Chapter 8: The Kiss.
Chloe:
I can’t believe that Harry brought this girl with him! When she told me that she liked him, I completely lost it. I ran out bawling my eyes out. Good thing I didn’t wear my heels today. I heard people calling my name out, but I ignored them. My stomach felt like it was punched a milion times. I felt dizzy, but I couldn’t stop running. I suddenly tripped and fell and just sat there crying. Two arms were wrapped around me.
“Are you okay?” It was Louis.
I just started to cry even more. He pulled me into his lap and just held me tight. I wrapped my arms around his neck and put my head in the crook of his neck.
“I don’t know.” I finally spoke up.
“I’m sorry, love. He’s just being really stupid right now. He really loves you. A lot.”
“No he doesn’t, Lou! He brought her here! She even likes him! What do you think he was doing this whole month?!” I shouted at him.
“Chloe. You know Harry, and so do I. He’s not like that.” Louis voice sounded worried, but soothing.
“I thought I did. But now I don’t know.”
It got quiet for a second. I was still in his lap and arms. I felt safe and secure again. This feeling hasn’t been in me ever since Harry pushed me away. Did my feelings for Louis come back?
“We came here to have a fun time. Now, let’s do that.” He looked down at me and smiled. He shook me out of my thoughts.
“Okay.” I whispered uncertain.
I slowly got off of his lap and helped him up. He pulled me into one last hug. He wiped away my tears and smiled. His smile made me smile and laugh.
“Well you’re laughing again. That’s good.” Lou laughed with me.
“Yeah. Now where to first?”
“How about I get you some cotton candy?” He put his arm around my shoulder while I hooked my arm around his waist.
“Yeah.” I smiled at him.
We shared the sweet together. It was nice spending time with my best friend again. I began laughing and just being myself again, because of Louis.
“Let’s go on the roller coaster!” I shouted.
“Okay! Calm down.” Louis laughed.
We ran to the entrance. The line was short, so it wasn’t that bad of a wait. We got a car and got in.
“You ready for this?!” He screamed.
“Yes! Let’s do this!” I screamed back.
Everybody was staring at us, as if we were insane. We loved to embarrass each other. That’s all we did during our time here.
Louis:
The roller coaster was pretty fun. I was surprised that she would ‘recover’ this quick. We went on so many rides and some we even rode twice. My feelings for her became stronger than ever. I saw her staring at this big brown teddy bear. She looked like she was in love. I couldn’t help but laugh a little.
“What are you laughing about?” Chloe questioned.
“You seem like you’re in love with the bear.” I pointed at it.
“I mean look at it! Who wouldn’t be in love with it?!”
“Do you want me to win it for you?”
“Yes!” She shouted.
“Alright!” I laughed and we made our way to the booth.
It was a game where you had to knock all the tins down with two baseballs. All pins fell down with one hit. I saw Chloe cheering and jumping.
“Whoo! Good job, Lou!” She gave me a hug.
“Here’s your bear.” I laughed handing her the bear.
“Thank you. You really made this night better. A lot.” She smiled at me.
“Well I’m just being a really great best friend.”
“You sure are.”
“It’s getting late. Let’s go on the ferris wheel.”
“Okay.”
She hooked her arm onto mine. We walked to the wheel and waited for our own seats. I let her step in first and I followed behind her. The worker closed the little gate for our safety. I sat next to Chloe. The wind was blowing, so it was a bit chilly. I looked at Chloe, who was shivering.
“You cold?”
“A bit. Yeah.” She quietly spoke.
“Here. Come closer.” I wrapped my arms around her to keep her warm.
The wheel started to move and soon we were on top. The sight was breathtaking. I looked at Chloe. Her eyes sparkled from all the lights. Her smile shined brightly. She was just beautiful. I wanted to kiss her right then and there. She looked over at me still smiling. I started to lean in, as did she. Our lips were barely inches apart. Then our lips touched. I felt every spark and butterfly. We pulled apart slowly. Then the sight of regret flushed over her face. Shit. What did I do? I just kissed Harry’s girlfriend. I was happy, but yet like I betrayed him. Chloe turned her face away.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that.” I blurted out.
“No. It’s fine. I just don’t know what to do now. Should I tell him?” Chloe looked sick.
“Chloe, you should tell him. It was my fault.”
“I just don’t know when though.”
“When the right time comes, you’ll know. I promise.” I whispered to her.
“Okay.” She whispered and continued to look at the scene.
The ride finally ended. We both got off and headed to the parking lot. The ride home was quiet other than the radio playing. We reached the flat around 11 in the evening. She got out of the car and headed inside the flat. I just sat in the car thinking what had happened back there.
“God! I’m a fucking idiot!” I shouted.
I got out and headed inside finding Harry asleep on the couch. I guess he decided to wait for Chloe, but fell asleep. I walked upstairs. The water was running from Chloe’s bathroom. I went straight to my room and got ready for bed. I saw the light turn off in Chloe’s room.
“Good night, Chloe.” I whispered to myself.
I just laid in bed. The scene of us kissing kept running through my head. Soon I found myself sleeping with the scene playing in my head constantly.
