Chapter 21: The Talk

It was the next day in the underground, the snow was still falling from the non-existent sky while Y/n was now walking outside of the skeleton brothers house, with a couple books under his arm as he turned towards the rest of the town and continued walking.

He then stopped in front of the Librarby and opened the door, hearing the welcoming chime of a bell as he entered. This caused all the monsters from within the building to look towards the door.

Seeing that it was Y/n who entered, a couple monsters at the tables on the ground turned to the monster next to them and began whispering, while the monsters at the floating tables just turned back to their books.

He smiled to himself as he thought,

Y/n: ('I'm gonna miss this place...then again, do I really want to leave? I mean...I kinda do, but there really isn't anything for me to go to other than the Orphanage and like I said before, I do not want to go back there...')

As Y/n was trying to wrap his mind around his conflicting thoughts he heard someone clear their throat. Looking towards where it came from, sat Didot with his glasses sitting on his snout and a book in his hand. Y/n then looked at the book which read, 'Thirteen Reasons Why' (BDD- Yes I know that it's a tv series but if you didn't know, there is actually a book too, though I'm not sure which came out first so...)

Y/n then looked at Didot who spotted the few monsters that were whispering when Y/n came in as he gave a slight chuckle, put the book down and said,

Mr. Didot: "My, how you've made a name for yourself here. A lot of monsters where surprised by your ability to hold your food."

Y/n smiled at Didot as he said,

Y/n: "I mean, what can I say? I'm just a very hungry guy, though I do agree that my food capacity is definitely not normal."

Mr. Didot: "Well, that's not all, you also ate those dishes in record time, the fastest I've ever seen someone eat."

Y/n just shrugged his shoulders as he smiled, causing Didot to chuckle once again. He then adjusted his glasses, which then let Didot see what was underneath Y/n's arm, they were the books that he had rented the day before. Didot then looked at Y/n and said,

Mr. Didot: "Oh? Did she finish those books already?"

Y/n raised an eyebrow as he looked under his arm to see the books he rented out for Frisk, who ended up not reading them-much to Y/n's surprise. He shook his head and said,

Y/n: "No it's not that, she didn't even read them, at all. She seemed mad so I chose not to ask her, Chara seemed mad too-"

Y/n stopped talking, ending his sentence, thinking about how stupid it was to mention Chara even though she technically didn't exist in the physical world anymore. As Y/n was about to say something to play off what he said, he looked at Didot only to see both intrigue and confusion on his skull.

Didot then took off his glasses, folding the arms of them and gently placing them on the counter he sat behind. He looked towards Y/n with intrigue still on his face as he asked,

Mr. Didot: "Did you just say...Chara? As in Princess Chara?"

This caught Y/n by surprise as he thought over how Didot could possibly know Chara while he also processed the word, 'Princess' as referring to her.
