Chapter 11

The next few days go wonderfully smooth. Today we are all going over to Chari and Benny's for a relaxed afternoon brunch. Nanny made some cookies and Martha made some of her special recipe brownies. I sampled them, oh my goodness, they are awesome. We just have to keep my husband out of them until we leave.

The twins are fed, cleaned up, and dressed really cute. They are ready for the party, we are too. I am very excited to get a chance to bond with our biological twin girls. We load up in two cars, Kirk drives one with Steve and Bonnie as well as Martha and Nanny. My husband drives me and the twins.

It's a beautiful day in February. "Darling, the weather out here is almost as good as the Turks and Caicos. We never could have it warm like this in MPLS, in February. I kinda hope we will have brunch outside enjoying this beautiful day."

He smiles glancing over at me. "Mama, I think that's what is planned." That makes me happy. I love taking in all the sunshine, it fills me full of energy and recharges my batteries.

Upon arrival, we are greeted by Benny and Chari's mother, Joanna. We introduce Joanna to Nanny, Martha, and the twins, Ethan and Violet. She already knows Bonnie, Steve, and Kirk because of them being over here helping Chari on the special project.

Nanny and Martha have dressed alike in their nanny uniforms. They both have on the identical, same uniform, a different color dress each day of the week with a white apron and pinned with a name badge. Good grief, they are dressed like twins. I wished they were a little more casual but they won't have it any other way. Dressing professionally all the time is their thing.

We get into the house and find Chari all fixed up on a chaise lounge in the living room. She is excited when we enter the room with the twins. "Bring those little cutie-pie twins over for me to see them." She reaches her arms out to hold one.

I give her Violet. You know she squealed when I handed her off. "Now, now baby girl. Mama's right here" Hearing my voice, craning her neck to see me, she stops the high-pitched screeching and cooed pretty for Chari.

"Gigi, she's a high strung baby. My daughter was that way. She did calm down when her brother was born."

I rolled my eyes, "All I can do is hope she settles down when our girls are born. It's gonna be a circus juggling all the infant's but it'll only make it worse if she doesn't settle some."

My darling husband is holding Ethan. "Chari, will you let me take a picture of you holding our twins." She laughs, "Prince, the picture ultimately will be both sets of twins, the born and the unborn. I love the idea of documenting your children. [Click, click, click] Oh!Oh! Come quick. The girls are doing their daily calisthenics. Give me your hand."

Chari moved the twins beside her and took his hand, moving it slowly over her very large distended belly. "Go ahead Mom, you can feel them too." I slowly extended my hand, hovering over her belly. The moment I touched her, one of the twins moved directly into my hand. Hearing the word 'Mom', then feeling our baby tripped some trigger for the flood gates to open wide.

"Aww, Gigi. Don't cry. I'm the one that's supposed to get emotional because my hormones are off the charts right now." She grasps my hand, "Come on Mama, sit with me. You need to experience your babies." Looking through my tears, I see Pappa is fore-lorned like he's being left out.

Quickly Chari notices, "Dad, you sit here." She softly pats the other side of her. "Okay you two, stop the waterworks. We are going to have some fun, quiet, family time so you can bond with your babies. I have Ethan and Violet secure and happy beside me. Place your hands on my belly. I am sure they will start to dance the bump and grind." I love her sense of humor. Softly floating my hand over her belly, I place my other hand over my husband's.
