I rest well until the next morning. We have the twins 6 weeks check up this morning. Nanny is in a tizzy getting them ready even though I am helping her. We feed and bathe the twins so they will look really cute in their outfits for the Dr and it will be easy to undress them as well. My husband is still sleeping. I try to get him wakened, "Sweetie, it's time to get up if you are going be there when the pediatrician arrives to give them their first check up."

He's barely awake, "Yes, Mama. I'm awake. How much time do I have?"

"Sweetheart, less than 30 minutes." I leave to join Nanny and the twins in the living room. Violet and Ethan are sound asleep. They look like little angels.

"Ma'am, would you like a cup of chamomile tea whilst we wait for the baby's doctor to arrive? I have some steeping in the tea pot."

"That's wonderful. Make one for my sleepy head husband. It may help him wake up with extra honey. " I follow her to the kitchen and watch her pour the tea. I take him his while mine steeps a bit longer. I like it strong. Much to my surprise he is up and dressed when I enter the master suite.

His eyes widen when he sees the cup of tea for him. "Thanks, Mama. How soon will the Doctor be here?"

How soon will the Doctor be here?"

"Come on, Darling. Anytime now." We go sit in the living room waiting for the Doctor to arrive. Balancing our tea cups and sipping it as the Brits do. He looks at me with a smile, [English accent]"M'Lady, shall we take the twins out for a stroll when the pediatrician finishes." Smiling, I nod quickly with approval.

Interrupted by a knock on the door, Nanny jumps up and heads to the door to let them in. Here comes the Doctor along with her nurse. This doctor came highly recommended and does mainly house calls. With all the high-end clientele here, there are a lot of 'on-call' doctors. This pediatrician is a woman, mid to late 40's. We stand when she enters the room.

"Welcome, Dr. Martin. I am Gigi Nelson and this is my husband, Prince." Well, that tripped her trigger. She spaced out all awestruck. Her nurse is younger and takes charge. "Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, we are going to weigh and measure the twin's development" They set up a scale on the table, with a tape measure, and proceed to go over them with a fine-tooth comb. Ethan just cooed and gurgles without a whimper when they give him a shot. But when it was Ms. Violet's turn, she threw down a wing-ding. My husband held Ethan so I could help them get what they need to assess her. As soon as I get my hands on her, she calms down.

Soft-spoken, Dr.Martin says to me, "Mrs. Nelson, she's really attached to you. Perhaps you might want to equally divide your time between them. She might respond better to strangers if she's handled less by you."

My husband pipes up, "Doc, we are doing what we think is best to care for our babies. They will be just fine how we are splitting up and sharing the duties."

The doctor and nurse finish up with the twins. He is bounce and swaying Ethan, I am sitting on the sofa holding Violet with Nanny. The Dr takes the seat adjacent to me. "Mrs Nelson, how are you doing postpartum? Have you had your 6 week check-up?"
