OLIVER'S POV
For it only being October, it was rather cold outside. I wasn't complaining, however, because in my opinion it was the perfect day for a quidditch match! It was 7am, time for me to get down to breakfast and review my coaching plan one last time before the match.
As I was walking out of the Boy's dorms, I found myself face to face with my girl, I mean, soon to be girl. I still needed to find a way to ask her to attend the ball with me, before someone else could. It made my blood boil at the thought of seeing her dance with someone else. I was snapped out of my thoughts by the love of my life asking me "Earth to Wood? Is everything okay in that quidditch filled head of yours?". I smiled and responded with a quick yes, and took her hand and quickly started leading us to the Great Hall.
MICHELLE'S POV
Did he really just grab my hand? I'm not imagining it am I? I quickly looked down at our intertwined fingers as did Oliver. He blushed and started to pull his hand away, but I tightened my grip forcing his hand to stay wrapped comfortably around mine.
" I was wondering if we could go over the playbook one last time before today's match? I'm a little nervous about giving Potter enough time and enough of a lead to catch the snitch." Oliver asked me sweetly. "Honestly, Oliver, enough overthinking! You are the best captain Gryffindor has seen in ages, not to mention you have the best beaters and seeker! As long as the twins can execute their part of the game plan, and the girls and I can score without any interruption, we will be fine. Besides, you're the best keeper I've seen. No one will score." He blushed an even deeper shade of red as we entered the Great Hall and sat down at the Gryffindor table. "Well, I have a pretty damn good head chaser as well." He said with a wink. We ate our breakfast while excitingly talking about today's match. Finally, It was time to head to the Pitch.
Warmups went exceedingly well, and now we were just waiting on the Hufflepuff's to finish their portion of field time before the match. Oliver was seen in the front of the locker room pacing back and forth. I turned to Katie and rolled my eyes. "He always gets so worked up before matches." She said. I nodded in agreement, but I couldn't help but admire him at this exact moment. "I think it's about time for our usual game day speech, mate!" The twins chimed in unison. Oliver Immediately stopped in his tracks and began his motivational mantra that seemed like it lasted several ages, but I wasn't even listening to the words. I was watching the way his mouth moved while he was speaking. The way his eyebrows animatedly moved when he got excited. But my favorite of all was that damned smile he was flashing me right about now. "Time to go kick some arse, ladies and gentlemen. Lets GO!"
OLIVER'S POV:
We were halfway through the match, and everything is going according to plan. The twins were doing exactly as Chelle taught them to do at practice yesterday, while Katie and Angelina were working amazingly to distract the rest of Hufflepuff. I was posted in front of the goals, watching Potter search for the snitch high above me, as nothing had even attempted to come in my direction all game.
I diverted my attention to Chelle, quaffle in hand. The way she glided through the sky was like no other chaser I had ever seen before. She briskfully made her sixth goal of the match, and the crowd went wild. That's my girl! I was suddenly distracted from my thoughts when I caught a glimpse of what appeared to be Angelina falling from the sky. It was more than enough to distract the other two girls, as the Hufflepuff chasers took possession of the quaffle and came rushing toward me. Bloody hell, they're coming for me! I snapped out of my thoughts just as the chaser was releasing the quaffle from his grasp. I did a 360 on my broom and headed towards the left goal, making the save of my life. I instantly heard my sweet girl's voice from right below me say " Idiot, I'm right here! pass me the quaffle before I come take it from you!" She smiled up at me as I passed it to her. We just needed one more goal to secure the desired lead for Potter. Chelle weaved in and out of the Hufflepuff team, racing for the middle goal. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Potter take off at lightning speed towards the snitch, with Diggory not too far behind him. I heard the ding of the goal shot go off, and immediately knew Michelle had made the last goal. There was only 15 seconds remaining in the match, and we desperately needed Harry to grab the snitch. With only three seconds remaining, Potter tipped over his broom and caught the golden snitch mid-fall.
MICHELLE'S POV:
We did it! Our practice plan worked! Angelina rushed over to us, Madam Pomfery screaming at her to take it easy. That's Angelina for you... never too injured to celebrate a hard earned victory. I looked across the pitch and saw Oliver celebrating with the boys, and without thinking, I sprinted over to him, arms open ready for a victory hug. Right as I reached him, He took me in his arms and spun me around. We beamed at each other for just a moment, and as he started to set me back down onto the ground, I noticed his mouth turn up into a smirk. As soon as my feet were set back on the ground, he grabbed my face with both hands and kissed me passionately.
OLIVER'S POV
I could hear our friends whooping and hollering at me, and the girls screaming "Finally!". I knew the whole school was still in the stands watching, and could hear their gasps of surprise. I didn't care one bit, because the thing I had dreamed about the most since I was 11 years old had finally came true. I just kissed Michelle Smith, and I couldn't wait to do it again.
