A New Friend (zuko x male reader)

ch 9: day three

"halin, calm down!"

the glass cuts my forehead. and i fall back. my brother charges towards me but i hear my him yell and fall down.

"y/n come on, i got mom somewhere safe, we gotta run!" i hear my sister yell.

my sister bent rocks that caused my brother to trip. she helps me up and we run. i turn around to see him. running and reaching his hand out to me.

i wake and sit up. grasping my mouth to not scream. i'm in a cold sweat the scar on my forehead is starting to sting again. i forgot lee was next to me and i turn to see if i woke him.

"y/n are you ok?" he asks me.

"yeah, i'm fine. go back to sleep lee" i say while laying back down and burying my head in his chest.

he wraps his arms around me and starts caressing my head. when i'm with lee i feel safe. lee is the only person i need right now. i close my eyes, attempting to go back to sleep but i can't. lee's asleep so i carefully get out of the bed to not wake him. i get out of bed and put on my day clothes even though it's still very late. 'i need some fresh air' i say while going to the door to go on a walk. as i'm walking i stand at the edge of a bridge with water running underneath it, and i look up at the moon. as i'm staring at the moon someone stands next to me looking up as well.

"the moons pretty isn't she" sokka asks.

"yeah, very" i respond. i knew it was sokka when he talked.

"why are you here so early?" sokka asks confused.

"i just wanted to walk for a while, what about you though?" i respond.

"i was bored and couldn't go to sleep" he says.

"yeah, i feel that" i say looking down in the water seeing the moon beautifully reflected in the water.

"are you ok? you seem.. sad i guess? definitely not happy" he says.

i turn to him and smile, "i'm ok, just.. tired i guess" i respond.

"are you sure? you can talk to me"

"i'm sure sokka. trust me. if i need to talk, i'll go to you" i say with a smile still on my face.

he puts a hand on my back and tells me he has to go back to his friends before one of them wakes up and freaks out. we wave goodbye and i walk back to lee and mushi's. it's earlier then i thought and the sun is already starting to rise. i walk inside and put on nicer clothes and drink some water. i sit down at the table by myself and my thoughts.

"what's troubling you y/n?" mushi asks.

"nothing mushi, i just woke up early and decided to get ready early" i say with a smile.

"are you sure?" he says raising an eyebrow.

"yes mushi, let me get you some tea and food" i say.

i prepare him some food and tea and give it to him. he eats it very quickly and lets me know he'll be at the jasmine dragon and leaves. i sit down at the table sipping at my water when i realize i should go see lee. i walk to his room and knock on the door.

"come in" he says.

"i was coming to see if you're awake" i say walking in seeing he's changed is basically ready, "come to the kitchen when you're ready, i made breakfast and tea" i say walking out the room but then he grabs my wrist.
