With their new baby and the holidays the arrival of the new year almost took Agnetha and Björn by surprise. It was only when Agnetha realized that she had completly forgotten to get the spare bedroom ready for their guest that she realized how close the arrival of the young girl was. Luckily she was spending the afternoon with Frida who agreed to help.
"What's on your mind, Agnetha?", she asked, leaning against the dresser she had just emptied.
"Oh, nothing." Agnetha was sorting out some sheets on the other side of the bed.
"You know you can't fool me. I can tell from your frowning that the sweet little head of yours must be cooking up a storm."
"Oh, don't flatter me like that. Here, clean off the bed instead so we can put on some bedsheets." By the time Agnetha had finished her sentence, her half-hearted smile had already vanished. Grabbing the pillows Frida asked:
"Judging from the fact that your Au Pair arrives tomorrow and you just now thought about preparing a room, I'm guessing your worried about her? But what I don't is why, so please tell me." Stroking her hair behind her ears Agnetha sat down on the empty bed.
"Oh Frida, I don't know if this was a good idea." She sighed, already on the verge of tears. Even Frida was taken aback by this strong reaction.
"The girl is so young and probablily impressionable, I mean you remember what being 20 was like. And then there is the way Björn looked at her picture, the way he looks at every young girl her age and don't pretend you haven't seen him look, I know you have." Frida, still leaned against the dresser, glanced to her feet before moving over to the bed and sitting down across from Agnetha.
"You don't actually belief he would suggest taking in an Au Pair to have an affair with her, do you?"
"Yes, no, I don't know."
"Wasn't the whole reason to hire this girl so the two of you would have more time together?"
"More like, more time for him and Benny to work.", she scoffed. Frida laid her Hand on Agnetha's shoulder while she dried off the few tears she had cried. They smiled at eachother.
"Just wait 'til she is here and you get to know each other. I'm sure it's all going to be fine.", she paused:
"And as much as I don't particularly like the work thing either, it means that we finally get the chance to spend some time together again, just the two of us." Frida winked. Agnetha's smile immediately froze. This was not the way their conversation was going to go. She quickly stood up:
"Let's put on these bedsheets." Baffled by the abrupt reaction, Frida simply got up to help. As much as she wanted their conversations to go into that direction once again, it didn't seem like Agnetha felt the same.
