I just bobbed my head up and down. My breath was taken away in full the moment she said those four words.
The girl smiled and the boy just rolled his eyes, crossing his arms.
"Why'd you decide to bring me along here?" the boy groaned.
"My name's Katara." Then, she shifted her view from mine towards the boy.
"..and this is Sokka, my brother." Her face looked annoyed now.
"My-"
Come on, spit it out..
"My name's Aang."
I stuck my hand out.
A handshake? Is that the best way to introduce yourself to a dame like her? She's not your boss you know, she's a student just like you.
She giggled and reached out to shake my hand.
Oh, Thank God.
"So, Aang, you said you're new here?" Katara asked, shaking my hand.
"Yeah, it's my first year here." I replied, my face still beaming with a red hue on both of my cheeks. I ran my hand through my hair.
She giggled again. That laugh made my stomach full with butterflies and made me tingly and happy inside.
"That's great! It's my first year here, too. My brother's starting his second year here" she said. She seemed happy with my response.
Sokka nodded his head at me. "Hey listen, I'm gonna go to my physics class guys. Nice meeting you though, Aang."
"Nice meeting you too!" I shouted as his figure walked off towards one of the many lecture halls around us.
"I better get going, too." Katara said, looking down at her phone. "It's seven fifty and my first lecture begins at eight o' clock."
"What's your first class?" I asked.
"It's with this professor called Pakku." she replied as she darkened her phone and stowed it away.
What the hell? I have Pakku too! Does this mean...
"I- I have that guy as well"
"You do? That's great!" she rejoiced. "Here, I'll walk with you!"
I felt my heart leap out of my chest. She grabbed my hand and led me along. Her touch. She has the softest skin and an even softer feel to it. As we walked side by side, I looked out of my periphery and saw her coppery face glowing in the sunlight, beaming a bright smile. Am I falling for her?
We made our way to the lecture hall. Before we walked through the double doors she looked towards me.
"You ready?"
"Let's do it."
With her hand on the left door and mine on the right, we pushed the doors and walked in. It was packed and it was loud. Much of the noise was coming from the top of the auditorium where a bunch of people were blasting music. To contrast, there were the people in the front who looked like they took the class seriously and arranged their notebooks and pens out on the unfolding desks. They ignored the noise coming from the top.
I pointed to the middle of the auditorium. "Want to sit over there?" It was a happy medium between the bullshit going on near the top and the nerdiness near the bottom.
"Sure" she replied as we began to walk our way up the incline towards the middle.
Professor Pakku began to walk out of a backroom door and onto a platform. We quickened our pace and situated ourselves into our seats. He pressed his little microphone dangling near the collar of his shirt.
