It was the end of the day and a large number of students were flowing their way out of the lecture halls around the campus, heading their way home or someplace else that they had to be. I began to figure out my location and plotted my way back home before a familiar face formed into view.

Katara? And who's that-

She screamed. From a distance, it looked as if someone was grappling her. I rushed over to her as a crowd of students began to form a circle around what was happening.

"...we wouldn't want ourselves to get hurt now, would we? Let's go for a night on the town.. What say you? You and me? We'd be the talk of the entire city!"

"Let go of me!"

I reached the crowd and tried to pry my way through. Why aren't these people letting me through? They're just going to stand here and do nothing? One of the bystanders turned to me and pushed me to the ground.I was lying on the ground, on my back. I brought myself up, and hauled myself through the seemingly impenetrable ring. Once through, I dropped down on all fours, my knees parallel to the ground and my arms holding my upper body up.

"Let go of her dude!" I shouted. The group of people drew their breaths

."And who might you be?"

I looked up to survey this guy. He was dressed in all black. A black turtleneck sweater covered his top while tight black jeans straddled his legs. His hair was messy and his face. Is that a scar? I winced looking at the burn mark on his left eye.

Apparently he noticed me looking at his scar because now he marched up to me. He took the back of my hoodie and raised me up to my feet.

"You like what you see?" he whispered to my ear. He let go of Katara and wound up his fist, socking me right in the stomach. I fell to my knees and clenched my gut, wincing in pain.

"Aang!" Katara screamed, wrestling her way out of the man's grip. The circle of people laughed as the man who quite literally fucked my gut walked away, raising his hand like he won an award for being a total dick.

After regaining composure, I got myself back up. As he walked away, I sweeped his leg with my own and toppled him.

The boy was now on the ground while I brought myself up to stand. "You like the view from down there?" I smirked.

The scar boy smiled devilishly at me and spat at the ground to his side. Soon he shifted his gaze towards the crowd surrounding us and nodded. With this, a couple guys dressed in red and black started to make an even tighter perimeter around me. I'm done for..

"You'll pay for that, kid!" said one guy,

"It'll be quick, trust me." muttered another.

"So, how do you want to go out" cackled a third. "Would you rather- UMPH"

The third guy fell down in front of me revealing another guy behind him. He wore an aviator jacket and had his hair in a large, spiky mess. He tilted his head slightly at me and winked before elbowing one of the scar boy's goons to his right.

Soon, I heard Sokka's voice screaming louder and louder from a distance. "YOU LEAVE THOSE TWO ALONE YOU MOTHERFUCKER!"

Jacket Boy and I looked at each other and nodded. I threw myself on top of the scar boy, immobilizing him while the other guy took off, socking and knocking people out left and right. Sokka got in as well and shuffled his way to Katara, taking hold of her and pulling her out of the brawl in progress. As soon as Sokka and Katara left the scene, the jacket man and I ceased and made our way out of there. We all made our off campus and sat ourselves on a sidewalk.

"The name's Jet by the way". He cocked a smile in the direction of Sokka and his sister.

Jet went down on one knee and put a hand on Katara's shoulder.

"You doing alright?" Jet asked.

She looked up to meet his gaze, smiled, and blushed.

"Y-yeah, thank you so much" she replied.

Hey! I did stuff to you know.

"Come on, let's get you home" Sokka cooed, running his hand through her hair.

The siblings got up onto their feet and Sokka threw an arm over her sister's shoulder and began to walk their way home.

Jet and I followed behind them.

"Who was that guy back there anyways?" I asked, leaning my head towards Jet.

"Him? He's Zuko" he replied. "He's just an asshat that comes from that stupid Fire Borough here and terrorizes people here." He briskly walked and slowed down towards Katara's side leaving me alone in the back echelons of our group.

"What's your name?" Jet asked.

Katara looked up and to the right to meet his face. She smiled and her face turned red.

"It's Katara," she said as she broke from Sokka's arm and went over to hug Jet.

I don't like where this is going.

We'd dropped Katara and Sokka off at their flat and I began to walk home towards my apartment. Jet looked like he was going to stay with the siblings a little while longer, which annoyed me. I was wholeheartedly jealous.

After a short walk from their place to mine, I made my way back home, exhausted. I unlocked the door.

My fluffy samoyed came running up to me from the balcony door. I smelled the air of the apartment. Thank God... no choco treats.

"Appa!" I dropped my bag and cupped both my hands around his face and rubbed his fluffy cheeks. He wagged his tail furiously, a sign he enjoyed my company. Momo came out waltzing from behind the island counter and brushed up next to my legs. He purred loudly.

"Glad to see you're happy too, Momo." I cooed, taking one of my hands from Appa and running it down Momo's furry back.

Slinging my bag with my foot and kicking it towards my reclining chair, I took Appa and Momo with both hands and led them to the kitchen. They were content with the serving of food I'd given them seeing as they went straight to town on the bowls. I smiled.

I took a shower shortly afterwards and changed into some comfy clothing: just an oversized hoodie complemented with black sweatpants. I slung my towel around my neck and let it drape on and over my shoulders. I clenched my stomach. Either way, I could still feel the damage done to my stomach. I walked out to the kitchen and grabbed some ice out of the fridge. Putting it into a bag, I meandered my way towards the reclining chair I left my bag on. Throwing it aside, I sat down in it, pulled open the footrest and sat the ice bag over my chest.

I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep shortly afterwards.

Finally, sweet sweet darkness.
