4. Clapping for Key workers

You don't even know who started the trend, but every Thursday at 8pm the whole country would go outside and clap for key workers, for all their efforts during the on going pandemic.

The first week, you weren't feeling too well, so Jack insisted that he'd stay inside with you, even though you told him he could go and do it, he refused.

However, every week since then, you'd go outside with him and clap for at least a couple of minutes before going back inside.

You had to admit, that after that major heat wave, the air became a lot colder, and so every night it got more and more freezing.

Jack told you to take a coat, but you told him it was only for a few minutes, so it wouldn't hurt any one.

"2 minutes to 8pm, better go outside," Jack smiled at you, offering his hand.

You took it and went outside with him, the clapping starting in a few seconds as you got out there.

Soon you began clapping, the pre summer chill hitting you, and you shivered.

"Cold?" He asked, smiling.

"Nope," you shivered, not wanting him to be right.

He chuckled, taking off his jumper and wrapping it around you, kissing your head and continuing to clap.

You blushed at the gesture, but didn't show him your crimson cheeks.

The clapping escalated slightly, everyone cheering and clapping louder, pots and pans were being banged.

It was heartwarming really. Seeing the country come together for a simple event.

You noticed the woman across the road just staring and smiling at Jack. She did this every week, obviously completely ignoring you each time.

You rolled your eyes, "Here she goes again."

"Oh god, help," Jack smiled, "She needs to stop this seriously. Is she blind or something?"

"She will be soon," you muttered.

"Here let me do something to stop her," Jack said abruptly.

Before you could answer, Jack smashes his lips onto yours, hugging you tightly with one hand and holding your cheek with the other. It turned deeper by the second. You were flustered by the action, your cheeks a deeper shade of red than before.

You grinned as you broke apart.

Jack looked across the street, only to see the woman gone, "See, problem solved, my jealous baby."
