chapter three

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off. It 6:30am on a Monday morning, meaning I had to get ready for school. Every dorm here had their own private bathroom, I mean it was small, but it had a shower, sink and toilet, which is what you need. It’s tough if you want a bath because the school doesn’t have them in the dorms.

I got washed, dried my hair, straightened it and put some makeup on, walking out in just a towel. I opened my small wardrobe up and got my school uniform which was a plain black skirt, a white shirt and the school blazer which was red. It wasn’t too bad, I mean I’d probably like it better if it was all black because black goes with everything and it’s like my favorite color.

I put all my homework and books into my backpack and left my room, making sure to lock it and heading down to the canteen for some breakfast. I got a crumpet with Philadelphia cheese spread, an apple and some orange juice.

I was sat at the back of the canteen when I remembered I needed to text Meghan to ask how the party went. When I looked at my phone I already had a text.

Annabelle, you should really learn to shut your blinds when you get ready for school. You’re lucky it was just me who saw you – n.h xx

Who is this???? I sent back.

You don’t need to know that yet, now go to lesson, you don’t want to be late babe – n.h xx

I looked at my phone confused, putting it in my backpack not bothering to reply. I got up from my seat and went to my first lesson which was English. I adored this lesson, it was the only place where I could express my feelings when we did our work.

I mean I was an A* student, so I’d like to think that the teacher enjoyed my work as much as I enjoyed writing it. I’d won many competitions whilst being here for my work, with poems, stories and even song lyrics.

I guess that was my only talent really.

I sat down at the front of the class, greeting my teacher in the process. Mrs Small is my favorite teacher in this school. Obviously because my best grades came from her.

Every Monday night I would go to book club, which she runs. We were currently reading Girl Online by Zoe Sugg, you see our teacher likes us choosing the books, so she let some of the younger ones vote on a couple of books and Girl Online got the most votes. I finished the book in one night and I’ve got to say it is pretty.

The lesson started five minutes later and Mrs Small was telling us about a new assignment we are having to start. We had to read the first chapter of Romeo and Juliet and write down our first opinion of it. Like how we think each character in the chapter is like. I mean I’ve read Romeo and Juliet more than once and I already knew what to write, nothing like bragging.

By the time our 2 hour lesson had actually finished I had wrote down all my notes I needed and even started typing my assignment up on my laptop. We had to make sure to keep our notes with the assignment as Mrs Small likes seeing how we started it off.

My next two hours were free so I decided to go to the coffee shop around the corner so that I could start my assignment in peace.

I grabbed a coffee and sat on a comfy chair at the back of the room where no one really goes as its dark and out of the way of people.

I opened my laptop and started finishing my assignment which was due in 2 days from now. The faster I started, then the faster I finished which meant the less homework I had.
