Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones Rewritten

Ch. 1: Lars Homestead

A shuttle approaches the planet of Tatooine and it lands right outside a moisture farm where Anakin's mother, Shmi, is pushing buttons or whatever on a moisture vaporator. The door to the shuttle opens to reveal slightly-aged Anakin and Obi-Wan. Shmi is enthralled to see her son. Owen steps out to investigate the commotion. He too is pleased to see his cousin again. And Anakin introduces Obi-Wan to him. Shmi tells the two Jedi that they must stay for dinner. Anakin was hoping she'd say that.

Everyone goes inside as we're introduced to Shmi's brother and Anakin's uncle, Clieg. Owen then gets a holocall from a woman asking him if he'd like to go to Tosche Station that night. Owen says he can't, saying he has family over. The woman asks if tomorrow would work. He says sure. Anakin asks who that was. Owen replies it's his girlfriend, Beru. They met when he went to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters. Shmi tells everyone that supper's ready and they all sit down to eat. Clieg commends Anakin on becoming a Jedi and envies him that he gets to see the galaxy. Owen however, is not so enthusiastic. He'd rather be where there are fewer dangers. Ones he also knows how to handle. Clieg reminds him that everyone has their own opinions. Anakin makes a snarky comment on how that's how the Separatists are thinking. "Separatists?", Shmi asked. "Long story short, a bunch of planets disagree with the Republic so they left." Shmi's also glad that they live on a planet where that is no one's concern. Shmi also asks Anakin if he's... Met anyone. Anakin says that he's met lots of people. She asks if he's met any girls. He says that he's met lots of females. She asks if any of them have caught his eye. "Well. Now that you mention it. There is one. Her name is-"

But before he can answer, a loud war cry can be heard. Sand people! Owen rushes off to get his rifle while Anakin and Obi-Wan force jump through the roof to see a band of sand people charging at the homestead. The Jedi bravely and briefly killed all the sand people that threatened the innocent lives inside. Owen runs out with his rifle, only to notice the dead bodies. "I-I cudda done it too." Clieg and Shmi thank everyone. The next morning, Anakin hugs his mom goodbye and takes off in the shuttle with Obi-Wan. Anakin asks Obi-Wan if they can stop by Naboo to see Padme. Obi-Wan says they can't. Anakin asks why not. Then Obi-Wan tells him because she's scheduled to be on Coruscant. So they set course for Coruscant.
