"Phil! Phil!" Someone yells, shaking me awake.
"Wh-what?" I mumble, groggy and confused.
"Phil, Tubbo's in the hospital." Dream says, looking frantic.
I shoot up, nearly knocking Dream over. "What happened!?" I yell, getting out of the bed. I put on some slides and my hat.
"He hurt his leg really bad. Techno, Wilbur, Tommy, and SapNap are there with him but since you're the legal parent, they need you."
I nod, running out of the room. The minivan is gone, so Dream offers up his car.
I drive in silence, worried for the two boys and their safety. What happened? How did it happen? Is Tubbo okay?
I arrive at the address Dream gave me, running in.
"Techno?!" I yell. People give me weird stares, as a man in pajamas and a hat yelling a screen name.
Techno appears in front of me in seconds, grabbing my arm and taking me to the room where Tubbo is.
"Oh my god! Tubbo, Tommy?! Are you okay?!" I exclaim, terrified.
"Sir, may I please see some identification?" A nurse says.
I fumble for my wallet, pulling out my driver's license and handing it to them.
"Alright then, Mr. Watson. Can we get full authorization to treat this boy with painkillers and other means?" The nurse asks.
I frantically nod, and fill out the paperwork she hands me, trying to see drown out the painful groans coming from Tubbo.
I hand it back to her before taking a seat. Tommy is on the verge of tears.
"I-I-I'm so sorry Phil. This is all my fault!" He says, wiping tears from his eyes.
They take Tubbo out of the room.
"Tommy, it's okay. It's okay." I say, pulling him into a hug.
After he calms down a bit, I decide to ask the question. "What happened? I promise I won't be mad."
He looks down.
"T-Tubbo wanted to run away... I knew he should stay but I didn't want him to end up going alone... A-and we ran into this guy, S-Schlatt... and we ran a-and he fell from a t-tree." He cries through.
I nod. I knew Tubbo was going through it, and this was hard for him. This just is adding to his pain. Tommy is blaming himself, and in all honesty I just want these two boys to be okay.
"Hey, It's okay. I'm not mad. It isn't your fault. Tubbo will be okay, I promise." I say, putting my hands on his shoulders. He looks up, his eyes full of emotion.
No kid should ever have to go through all of this.
"Why- why aren't you mad?" He asks.
I smile, pulling him into a hug. "Because there's nothing to be mad about."
I hear him sob into my pajamas. I'm glad he's getting it out. I care too much about these kids to get mad. I just want them to be happy.
The nurse comes back after a bit, holding a chart.
"Toby has been bandaged up and supplied with painkillers. He'll have to stay on bed rest for about a week so his skin can heal over." She says. "Other than that, he's fine, and can go home. Pick up some painkillers under your last name at the front desk when you're ready to go."
"Thank you. See, Tommy? Tubbo is a-okay." I say. Tommy hugs me tight, before letting go.
"Where is he?" He asks.
"I can bring him back in here." The nurse says, giving a customer service smile.
"Ok." Tommy says, nodding. Because of the situation at hand, I made sure that his word was more important than mine.
The roll Tubbo in on a cot, Wilbur, Techno, and SapNap following.
"Hey." He says, groggy but not in pain.
Tommy runs up next to him, unsure of what to do.
"Tubbo I'm so sorry." He says, leaning over his brother.
"It isn't your fault. It just hurts a bit." Tubbo says.
"Okay." Tommy says.
"Is everyone ready to go?" I ask, smiling.
I get some grunts of agreement, and the nurse brings in a wheelchair for us to wheel Tubbo out of the hospital with.
"Tommy, Tubbo, you'll ride with me." I say. Both of the boys look scared.
We get into our cars, Techno bringing the wheelchair back to the hospital while we pull out of the parking lot.
The car is in complete silence.
"We need to talk about this, boys." I say.
"It was my idea! Give me all the trouble!" Tubbo yells.
"Wot?! No, Tubbo. It was my fault, I let you do it." Tommy says.
"Boys." I say. They both silence. I sigh. "You aren't in trouble, okay? I know this is hard for you, and this is natural. But we're going to take some precautions for your safety, okay?"
They nod. I pull into the parking lot of an ice cream shop.
"Just... Tell me why first." I say.
Tommy looks at Tubbo, and vice versa.
"Are you telling the truth? Did you know them?" Tubbo asks.
I sigh. It's time.
I pull out my phone, going to a video on my channel. "That infamous couple talk about hardcore."
It's a ten minute video, but I hand the phone to Tommy and Tubbo.
I can't look, but I hear them crying.
"These are our parents!" Tubbo cries out. "They-they're there!"
A waitress comes out to our car, looking at the sobbing children.
"Anything you would like for your boys?" She asks.
"Three big chocolate cones." I say, giving her a smile.
The boys put the phone down, crying. They just hug each other.
"Oh god I'm so sorry!" Tommy yells.
I get into the backseat with them, just hugging them and calming them down.
"It'll all be okay." I whisper.
