"So this is me swallowing my pride
Standing in front of you saying I'm sorry for that night
And I go back to December all the time"
Back To December - Taylor SwiftoOoOo
"Come in."
I step inside the messy house.
I don't miss the apprehension on his face before he turns around and starts walking.
I follow him, assuming that we're going somewhere more private to talk.
As we walk through the living room, I don't miss the dirty looks a few of the guys give me. A few of them stop playing their video games to glare on me.
What did Kaden tell them?
We reach his bedroom. Kaden sits down on his bed and motions for me to sit on his desk chair.
It's silent for a minute. He sits there staring at me blankly.
I look around the room and fidget with my backpack, too nervous to start talking.
"You wanted to talk. So talk."
"Right. Um... So again, I'm so sorry that things went down like this."
"Are you genuinely sorry or just sorry things didn't go according to your agenda?" He sneers.
I flinch.
"Sorry for snapping," he instantly replies in a kinder tone. "Let's just have a civil adult conversation."
"Agreed. I'm truly sorry. I never meant for you to get hurt like this."
"Yes. You have said that. Many times," he replies curtly.
I nod.
"You still haven't explained. I want to know why."
"I've almost told you a million times, but something always came up."
"That's not an excuse."
"I know. I don't know what to say other than sorry. Hurting you is the worst thing I have ever done. I'm sorry for treating you like shit. You deserve so much better than me."
Tears escape my eyes. I wipe them away and continue with my speech.
"If I could go back and change things, I would do it in a heartbeat. I didn't mean to destroy everything. I know I fucked up. I'm begging you for another chance. I don't deserve it, but I'm selfish and I truly need you in my life."
He doesn't respond for a few minutes.
"So is everything in the magazines true?"
I grimace. "Not everything online is true. I'll answer your questions 100% honestly, but I completely understand if you don't want to see my face again."
I really hope he doesn't kick me out. I probably deserve it, but I want to make things right.
"So you are engaged to Xerxes?"
"Yes." I don't even bother correcting him. I open my water bottle to take a drink.
"So you slept with him too?"
I choke on my water. "Where did you hear that?"
"One of the magazines. I forget which one."
"No, that is not true at all. That never happened." I look into his eyes, trying to convey my sincerity.
He nods, seeming to believe me.
"But you've been dating both of us at the same time?"
"Xander and I weren't officially together until the beginning of January. It isn't a real relationship, though. It's mainly for PR. I don't know where US Weekly got that from."
