chapter 19

Emma's POV

"Someone is in the house." Hillary mutters.

Shit. Where are the guys when we need them? I can't fight anyone off by myself. And I cant let Hilly fight because that's what I'm here for. I don't think I can do much considering Hilly won't let me use my powers.

"I'll go check. Stay here." I demand.

"No. Are you crazy? We obviously can't go up and check. If someone is in here then they can stay. We're leaving." Hilly says pulling me towards the door.

"We can't leave anyone in here."

"Why not?"

"Because, it's wrong."

"Well, I don't feel like deing today, so lets go"

"Really? It's probably nothing and it automatically answered. Let me check right quick and we'll leave" I pout.

She lets out a long sigh and lets go of my arm.

"Fine but I'm coming with you"

We slowly walk up the stair and into her room. Nothing. She steps infront of me and over to her bed. She picks up her phone off the bed. There was a note on it.

"What does it say?" I ask. She hands me the note.

What the hell?

Hillary's POV

The thought of people from another realm having access to my room sent a shiver down my back.

I wasnt sure who was in my room, but I had an idea of who it might have been.

I wish there was a way I could keep my room out of reach from other paranormals.  I cant have them thinking its ok to burst into my life whenever they want to.

Only because I refuse to go track down some raandom rebellion group to save me from my father.

"Anyway, we are going to be late for the party. Lets go" Emma says pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Oh, right." I grab my phone and we leave.

I was silent the whole ride mostly thinking about what was to come for us. I know we cant do this forever. Just pretend its ok, because its not. They all think I can protect them, but I cant. I have no idea what they think I can do for them.

We arrive to the party. It was full of laughter and really loud music. I already want to leave.

"You ready?" Emma asks turning off the car.

"No, but lets go" I get out of the car and walk towards the house. I noticed a couple guys starring and I walked faster until we were in the house. I look around hoping to find jenn.

Why did so many people want to come to her party anyways. I mean she is gorgeous, but besides that she was mean and annoying and always talking about people. I cant believe I'm here.

While I walked around looking for jenn or hunter I lost emma. I have no idea where she went to, but it was no where near me.

I run into someone on accident. "Sorry" I apologies. When I look up I find a guy standing infront of me. He was really cute.

"Its fine. I'm zach." He smiles and my heart melts.

"Hillary" I say and before he can respond someone turns me around. It was jenn.

"Hey! I've been looking for you. Come with me" she continues pulling me.

I look back at zach. "It was nice meeting you" I give him a smile and follow behind jenn.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"Some place thats not as crowded" she yells over the music.

"I really cant talk. I'm just looking for hunter." I say.

"He told me he couldnt make it. He was busy or something."

"What!?! I really should go then. Have you seen Emma?" I ask.

Before she could answer Emma shows up beside me. "I was looking for you" she laughs.

" lets leave. I didnt find what I was here for." I say pushing through the people trying to find an exit.

I freeze in my spot when I find something else.  Definitely not the exit. I turn around and rush through the crowd. I hadnt noticed I was crying until I reached the car. Emma ran behind me.

"Whats wrong?  You just ran out without me." Emma asks.

"Nothing. Just take me home" I demand getting in the car.

She didnt question me further. Instead she got in the car and drove away from the party. I cant believe I trusted him. I should have known.

We arrive home and I run up to my room and lock the door. Not like they couldnt get in because of that, but I liked to believe they couldnt.

I sit down on my bed looking at my wall. Thinking everything through. I'm not going to tell him I saw him but I'm definitely not letting him think its ok to go around kissing everyone.

If he can do anything he wants then so can I. I'm probably going to regret this but I dont care at the moment. I get up walk over to my wall and open up a path. Looking back at my room one last time I step through the paths and they quickly close behind me.
