Chapter 20 - Return to the leaf

So I just want to mention that the land of waves story line was inspired by spirited away. Especially because they also have a character named haku. (Dude on the right of the pic btw)

Time skip a few weeks

"Haku? Are you awake?" Sakura asked as she was assigned to watch haku.

It had been a few weeks and the bridge had been completed. It was decided to be named the great naruto bridge.

Naruto concluded that haku would wake up in a few more days so tazuna allowed them to stay in his house until the boy woke up.

The team took these days to train. Kakashi would spar with naruto and sasuke as one needed more taijutsu experience and the other had to practice his sharingan.

Sakura volunteered to look after haku as she wanted to study harder on her medical ninjutsu. So the pink haired girl stayed inside most of the time.

Zabuza however was no where to be seen with his last words being.

"I've made enough mistakes and making up for one of them doesn't change the fact I'm a missing ninja, take good care of haku I'll be on my way."

"Where am I?" Haku weakly whispered.

"Your at tazuna's house, you know the old man you tried to kill," Sakura bluntly explained.

"Where's naruto," haku desperately asked, "I need to apologize to him-"

Haku was cut off my Sakura putting her hands on his shoulders. "I'm pretty sure naruto already forgave you, now you just rest, I'll tell him your up." Sakura said to haku who just nodded.

"Hakuuu, your awake, I'm glad," Naruto said embracing the boy in a hug. Haku jumped a bit at the sudden touch but relaxed into the hug he hadn't felt in a long time.

"I'm sorry..." Naruto whispered.

"For what, you saved me," haku replied.

"Using kyuubi's chakra, you'll experience side effects, it'll be best if you come to the leaf village rather than wander around," Naruto explained.

"What side effects exactly?" Haku asked.

"I've never used this on a human but most likely chakra canal damage, it'll be hard for you to use chakra correctly ever again," Naruto explained with sorrow.

Haku nodded still grateful for what naruto did for him.

"Let's head back, I don't want us to burden tazuna anymore," sasuke plainly said which was replied with a chorus of nods.

On the way back

The group were chatting like normal kids down the road which led to the large Konoha gates. Kakashi carrying haku who was asleep and the rest carrying there respective pacs.

Naruto was still empty handed with everything stored in seals.

"Uhh naruto, hello? Earth to baka," Sakura said in naruto's face.
