I turned to walk to my room and met Emily walking to the library. She waved at me when she saw me. 'Cmon I just found a fun book to read. We'll read it together' she invited. I ran to her and pulled her to my room.
'What's gotten into you?' she asked annoyed. I filled her with everything. 'Wow you got another handsome hunk falling over you. I mean everyone is in love with you but-' she said and shrugged. 'Thats not the point Emily' I said angrily. 'Ok so what about the Aran? We didn't find anything, anything aganist him. He's a powerful, renown and well loved king' she said heaving sadly. I nodded sadly. 'But we haven't tried one thing' she said. I looked at her confused.
'We get into his royal chamber' she said rolling her eyes as if it was the most easiest and obvious thing to do. 'Yeah right. We'll be wearing Spy clothes and enter the kings private chambers as in Bond movies. I'm not getting my head chopped' I said smirking. 'Elves don't chop heads' said Em cleaning her long nails 'They fire arrows at you'. I smiled sarcastically and said 'That's a big relief to hear'. 'Well would you prefer to have your head chopped off or arrows fired at your heart' she asked. 'None. So that's why we are NOT going to his chambers'... I said finalizing.
And now I'm in front of Faerunduil's chamber, my legs knocking into each other. Why do I always let Emily make decisions for me. When has Emily's decision ever been the best to obey. I shook my head at her but I was loss for words. 'Stop shaking your head you dummy' she whispered angrily. I nodded.
We pressed our ears to the door. There was no noice of anything or anyone. Emily gave me a thumbs up. I nodded. I slowly pushed at the heavy door. There was no creaking thankfully-
'What are you two ladies doing?'. We both jumped at the sound and quickly turned around.Luthiann was staring at us with her arms crossed. She looked a lot like my mom when I or Joseph had done something aganist her rules. Em and I looked at each other. My heart was thumping really hard. 'What are you two doing here?' Luthiann repeated. Emily started to play with her fingers quite aggressively. 'We- um... came here to meet up with....Daemeon' I stuttered. Luthiann raised her eyebrows. I smiled trying to convince her somehow. 'Oh ok ladies. So now tell me....why are you really here'.
I looked at Emily fearfully. Em was avoiding my gaze. 'Trying to Spy on the Aran?' Luthiann asked. My eyes went wide. Emily was stuttering stupidly. 'Yes' I said bowing my head. Luthiann pulled my face towards her and said 'Always keep your head up high'. I clenched my teeth and nodded. She looked behind her and we saw Airen coming out from the pillar waving his hands. Oh no... now he's going to think im here to steal or something.
Airen and Luthiann smiled at me and Em. I and Em looked at each other confused. 'Well we were here for that cause too' said Airen slowly. 'Your here to spy on Aran too?' asked Em sighing with relief. Luthiann shrugged and said 'We have standing guard at the boundary day and night. We don't know how... the...things got in. And we don't know what they need from Aran.
Aran refuses to tell us that. But we deserve to know so here we are'. I looked at them suspiciously and asked 'What are theses things exactly?'. Luthiann looked at Airen questioningly. Airen nodded and said 'You ladies do remember that we had found a camp on the border forest right?'.
Em and I nodded and Luthiann looked at us surprised. Airen continued 'Well it was an Orc campsite'. I and Emily looked horrified and gaped at each other. 'How do these girls know about the camp?' asked Luthiann staring at Airen. Airen stared right back and replied 'Its our secret'. Em and I smiled at him. Luthiann pouted at us and said 'Well any way we are trying to get in the chmabers when we found you'.
Emily's face lit up and asked them, 'But you both could get in without anyone looking at you with suspicion'. Airen looked at Luthiann and then said 'True but we are only allowed at the entry chamber and not further'. Emily face fell. 'Is there no other way?' I asked them. 'Well you both could sneak in' shrugged Airen. 'They will not risk for us' whispered Luthiann angrily. 'Well we were trying to sneak in anyways' I said. 'Exactly' said Airen.
I and Emily smiled at him while Luthainn glared at him. 'Well I think it is safe for only us to go in' said Airen shrugging again. 'True but there's one thing good if they get in. They could be almost invisible. We both are tall and it would be easy for anyone to spot us when we try to hide. And these ladies were able to scoop bakes from the kitchen without the bakers knowing, well most of the time' said Luthiann nodding at us. Airen looked at us and nodded at Luthiann.
'I don't want them to get in trouble. They would be thrown out' said Luthiann.
'I don't want them to get in trouble either' Airen said looking at me sadly and with pure love in his eyes.
I smiled at him and that's when I made up my mind. 'We are going to the chambers' I said solemnly. 'Emily smirked and said 'Yeah we are. We promise to be careful'. Airen and Luthiann looked at us doubtfully. Airen shook his head and said 'No.' Luthiann nodded and said 'Airen is right. It's too risky'. 'We are willing to take the risk' said Emily firmly. I nodded.
Luthiann bit her lips and nodded at us. Airen looked at me and then suddenly turned away.
We went to the private gardens set aside for important talks and all. It had a charm that the risider would only be able to allow someone to enter and listen to the conversation and no one would be able to eavesdrop. Airen cast a spell and my ears popped for a moment. Emily must've felt the same thing as she started rubbing her ears
uncomfortably. Luthiann leaned forwards and began givng us her plan.'Tonight the Aran and the Ernil would be gone with the builders for repairing the damaged boundary' she said 'Thats your chance to sneak in as there won't be anyone else there'. I furrowed my brows and looked at Emily. Emily raised her eyebrows. 'But Luthiann yesterday I heard the Prince and Aran speaking to someone else. It was a lady' I said.
Airen and Luthiann looked at each other confused. 'Josephine there are no other ladies there. Luthiann is the only elven maiden allowed there. And Lady Lavinia when she was alive' said Airen looking worried. I shook my head and said 'No I did hear a lady...or I think I did'. We went quite for a moment. 'You must've imagined it' said Luthiann convincingly. I nodded agreeing.
They continued, 'The Aran would not be here until next twilight. So you have enough chance to collect as many as resources you can. And we mean information not stealing. We do not stand stealing' said Luthiann warningly. We nodded quickly. Airen warned us again 'We mean that literally because there are extreme charms and ancient magic that could harm anyone who dares steal from the Aran'.
Emily looked at them unsure. 'Why am I having second thoughts about all this...?' she said twisting her fingers nervously. 'We are not going to back off. We assure you that we will only collect the required information we need' I said firmly. Airen and Luthiann nodded approvingly. But they weren't able to say anything further as they did not know what was beyond the entry room.
Luthiann called us from our rooms to inform us that the Aran had left and Daemeon might've left earlier because she did not see him anywhere the whole day. Emily and I walked to the direction of the royal chamber. Staring at the magnificent door. Airen and Luthiann stood behind us nodding nervously. Emily slowly pushed the door open. Emily got in.
I was about to step in when a firm hand held my shoulder and turned me around. I whipped back and Airen suddenly collided his lips into mine. He did not let go of that position. Neither did I. I pulled his head towards my face. I felt him smile. And then he moved back. Luthiann looked at each of us smiling. Emily shouted slowly 'Get a room you two'. Airen smiled at me and said 'Be careful'. I nodded and Emily shouted again 'What am I a roach?'.....
