Jay’s POV

I sit alone watching the TV, as I normally do these days. It’s not like I have anything better to do is it? As I flick through the channels, I hear a knock at the door. I stand up to see who it is and when I get there, I open the door and standing there in front of me, is Nathan, Max and Tom. They look pretty panicked too.

“What’s up?” I ask with an eyebrow raised.

“Grab your stuff, we’re leaving” Nathan tells me.

“What are you talking about?” I ask them, not quite sure what to think at this point. Have they planned me a holiday? Would they really do that for me?

“Just do it, we’ll explain everything on the way” Max says, rolling my eyes. I know if I leave it any longer the boys will only get annoyed with me. I look at them with a smile, before running off up the stairs to collect some clothes and other belongings. I kick my bedroom door open and when I get there, everything seems to be screaming out to me “Take me!” I don’t even know where I’m going, so how do I know what to pack? Maybe I should just take things for every situation. I rummage around in my draws, throwing all of my clothes on my bedroom floor. Once my draws are empty, I pick up my suitcase from on top of the wardrobe, where I throw everything into it. Once everything’s in, I start to pick up other things I might need, like my phone charger and my laptop. This is going to be a holiday to remember. I pick my suitcase up and then run down the stairs with a smile plastered on my face.

“So where are we going?” I ask, as I reach the door again.

“Like I said, we’ll explain on the way” Max says and I can tell he’s getting impatient. I step out of the house, slamming the door behind me. I can’t wait to find out what the boys have in store for me.

“You could have come in you know, you didn’t have to wait out in the cold” I tell them.

“You have to invite us in remember?” Tom says, rolling his eyes. I guess this holiday might be a little more stressful than I’d hoped, with those pair being all stroppy.

“By the way, Jay, you have to drive” Nathan tells me. Now it’s my turn to roll my eyes. I press the unlock button on my keys, as I walk round to the back of the car. I open the boot, where I put my suitcase in it, before closing it up again. I then walk back round to the driver’s seat door. I soon get inside and the boys have already got inside. As soon as the doors closed, I look up into the mirror, where I check my hair. It looks great as usual. It’s weird not being able to see the boys in the back though. I know they’re there, but I just can’t see their reflection. I guess that’s good for sneaking up on people though. As I pull away from my house, I decide that this is probably the best time to ask the others where we’re going.

“So where is we’re off to?” I ask them, with a smile. I cross my fingers slightly in the hope that one of them will come out and say something like “Spain of course!”, but they don’t. I look over at Max who is sitting next to me, but he’s too busy looking at the others in the back of the car. I then look round at Tom and Nathan, who are looking at each other.

“Just tell me already” I tell them, getting slightly annoyed. There is clearly something wrong. I hate it when those lot try and hide stuff from me, like I’m not part of the group or something. I suppose I’m lucky I got an invite, I don’t see Siva here, but I suppose he’s only human. It would be too dangerous for the others to be around him.

“Fine, if you must know, we’re moving to France” Nathan blurts out and then quickly puts his hand over his mouth. I look back at the road for a few seconds, before turning to Max.

“We’re moving to France?” I ask in shock.

“Yes” Max confirms, whilst scowling at Nathan.

“But why are we moving? I don’t want to move. I like it here. London was already too far away from my family without us living all the way in France, don’t I get a say in this?” I ask them, feeling quite annoyed.

“Look Jay, this isn’t up for discussion. This is for your own good. Do you really think we want to move to France? No. We’re doing it so we can protect you” Tom butts in.

“Protect me?” I ask them, not really knowing what’s going on.

“Look, Shannen came by my house earlier. She told me that Vlad had sent her and I had a choice to make. We could have killed you and took you to Vlad ourselves, or we would be hunted and killed by the other vampires. So we’re running away, somewhere they won’t find us” Max tells me.

“Seriously? They want to kill me?” I ask them, slightly worried. What if the boys turn on me? What if this is just a lie and what they’re really doing is selling me to the vampires in France or something?

“Yes, but don’t worry, we’re not going to let that happen. That’s why we’re going to France” Nathan says.

“What about Siva? Isn’t he coming too?” I ask them, not really thinking.

“I don’t want to upset you, but Siva doesn’t care about you. We asked him to come and he told us to hand you in and have done with it. He’s gone mad with the power of being a vampire and he’s not going to stop. He doesn’t know how. He’s not like us. We don’t want to be like this, whereas he’s enjoying this” Tom sighs.

“He’s a vampire too?” I ask them and Max nods slightly. I feel my heart sink slightly. Not because Siva doesn’t care about me, but because now I really am different to all of the others in the band. They could turn on me and any time and I would have no one. It’s not like my family will be able to help me, is it? Vampires are stronger than everything else in this world and they could kill me in a second. All it would take would be one argument with the boys. If I got one of them angry, they could kill me in the heat of the moment. That’s just what they are. They can’t help it and I don’t know if I can trust them because of that.
