Your eyes darted swiftly and the clock that read '3:45am' this made you roll your eyes. You'd been reading for hours, trying to get your mind away from it all.
Your lover, Levi, had been doing paper work through the night. You didn't feel the need to bother him, of course he would visit you in the morning.

Laying back onto the couch, a small knock is heard on your tall, slender door.
"Come in." You whispered, eyeing the frame. The tall commander you know so well then ushered through the door, smiling at you, trey in hand. You smiled back, sitting up and walking to your desk. He sat the trey down, "(F/N), you didn't eat again. You've gotta quit making me worry!" He scolded, pinching your ear.

You squirmed, sighing, then sitting the book down. "Nag, nag, nag old man." He smiled and watched as you ate the first bites of a sandwich he had made for you. A token of friendly love, considering you had helped him back to his room in the drunken state he was in without anyone but Levi knowing last night.
"Oh, by the way, how's that hang over?"

He chuckled, crossing his arms, "Pretty good, pretty good. I feel way better, sorry for throwing up on your shoes." You laughed, swaying your hand in a passive manner. "Don't worry, Mr. Sqeaky Clean gottem shiny! Love that man."
Erwin laughed along beside you, shoving your elbow.

"I'm going to retire for the night, seriously, get some rest." You rolled your eyes watching him leave, mouth full of bread.
Only seconds later, a small raven haired man opened your door, walking in, catching you mid-chew.

"I saw Erwin leaving, what's going o-" He stopped, seeing you sandwich-in-hand. Rolling his eyes he walked over, sitting on the sofa that matched his own.
You smiled, washing your mouth out and wiping your hands off from the food. "What is it, love?" You proceeded to sit next to him, smiling as bright as ever.
Levi didn't want to tell you Erwin made him jealous. He didn't want to admit he wished to be the one to cook for you, or care for you at 3am when you're both wide awake. He didn't know how.

"Nothing. Are you and Erwin, close?" He suddenly remarked at his words, catching himself slipping. You cocked a brow at him, "I guess you could say that. I love him, he's like a big brother."
His shoulders, which he didn't realize were tense, had loosened. Brother. Good. Yet, he couldn't help but think, love? No. No one could love you like him, no one could protect you or shelter you like him.

You noticed his distress and raked a soft hand through his hair, "Don't worry, I only love you, short stuff."
He scoffed at your nickname and stood, "I'm tired." You proceeded to yawn at his words, gesturing your bed.

The next morning you woke up with no Levi beside you. Perhaps he had gotten up and went to get dressed earlier. Either way you got ready for the day.
Opening your door and stepping out, Erwin met you as he always did. "Hey, ready?" You nodded as you all contained down to the dining hall for a quick breakfast, then training and mission planning.

Levi had already been there, drinking and conversing, well- bullying rather, with Hanji. They notice his mood change once you walked in with the tall blonde. They snickered at him, hitting his shoulder hard, making him flinch. "Looks like Humanities Strongest has a weak spot! Who knew!" They finished their coffee, quickly standing up.
You ushered over to Levi, sitting beside him and lying your head on his shoulder. He let you, loving the warmth you provided. He watched Erwin closely, making sure he wasn't sneaking looks of infatuation at you.

Levi acted aggressive all day. Choosing to ignore you, then playing it off. Acting like a petty child. Erwin didn't talk to you much that day, you didn't really noticed.
You were more worried for Levi. Sure, you love Erwin, but not like Levi.

Levi had your heart and soul, even your admiration. He didn't know all the details, only that when he felt alone and broken, you made him relinquish all the bad and feel content.
Now you were both sat in his office, a silence cascading over you both. Not that you minded it.

You watched him slam the pen down in frustration, looking out of the window. Sitting up, you looked over to him.
"Honey, what's wrong?" You asked, stepping near his desk. He threaded his slender fingers through his hair, nodding away your vive for information.
"Nothing."

"Lies."

"Okay, maybe something." His voice was harsh, angry. You cocked a brow as you had many times, sitting on the edge of his desk. Open to listening.
"Erwin makes you look happy. He cares for you in a way I don't know how. Your love for him is making me feel a feeling I just can't define. It's like I'm mad, but at the same time I can't be. I hate it."

He pouted a little, closing his eyes and sighing. To his surprise, you only laughed. Giggled, even.
"Silly. I would never pick him over you. My love for you is unconditional, it has no end. I would kill for you, I've never felt that way about anybody." You admit, clutching onto his shaky, sweaty hands.

His mouth fell agape a bit, staring at you, feeling like nothing but a fool. Suddenly embarrassed, he covered his face. "God, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset. I just didn't want to have to lose you by my own neglect and another man swooping you from under me."

Levi rarely opened up to you, but you liked when he blew up about things. He was open, honest. Even if he was mad.
You nuzzled against his palm, kissing his white knuckles gently.
"I love you, Levi. No one else is like you, therefore, I can only help but to fall in love with you."

The blush was radiant on his cheeks. "Thanks. You too."

You knew that meant 'I'm sorry, I love you.' So you let it slide. You would end the night in his lap, being read a thick book by him, eating a meal he had made for you.
