Description - your daughter wants to hear the origin of her parents story
(brief mention of past suicide attempt. please don't read if it'll make you uncomfortable. always here if you need anything as usual x)Having children was a blessing. Up until the point in which they become stubborn, little, misfits.
Trying to get two small children to bed was an impossible task. You respected your mum, and all parents, a lot more since having children. You never quite realised and appreciated the extent of how much time and effort went in to raising kids. You wouldn't change it for the world though. Being a mum was the most rewarding thing life could give you.
The past six years of your life had been a blessing. The first two were spent dating Harry, getting to know him for someone other than the rockstar the rest of the world know him to be. The four years that followed were full of memories and mischief. Your daughter, Astrid, was now four years old. You'd been pregnant with her at your wedding, and she was the wedding best gift you could've ever received - even if she did make you look poofier than usual.
Astrid was a ray of sunshine. She completely took after Harry. Her and Harry had the same personality and the way they interacted with each was something you would never be able to stop melting over. She was a mini-Harry - in fact it was the first thing people mentioned upon meeting her.
6 months ago you had another adorable addition to the family; Toby. He was the sweetest little man to exist. Toby was the spitting image of his dad, but had a personality more developed from you. Astrid and Toby were your everything and you loved them a hell of a lot. That didn't mean to say they were the devil children when it came to their nighttime routines.
Tonight you were blaming the mischievousness on Harry. He had fed them ice-cream before he had to go to the studio, for some late night recording, and left you with the consequences of it. Apparently he'd added extra sprinkles too. You were too busy doing laundry and such that you had been oblivious to it all.
You were over in L.A. at the moment, because Harrys job required him to really be over here, but he didn't want you to be alone with a relatively newborn and so asked you to come over with him. You, and the kids, rarely saw him because he was so busy - to the point where you believed he was overworked - but when you did he certainly made up for lost time. He would take the kids on little trips around L.A.. As for you, he cherished every moment he had with you.
Whether he took you on a hike up the sunny hills over Hollywood, or treated you to a lavish meal out, or even, just the once, took you to a couples yoga session, he made it absolutely perfect. Nothing he did was below platinum standard. Your favourite dates normally included ones with your children though - especially the ones to Disneyland.
Since your little ones were far too active to be put to bed early, tonight, you had to be creative.
You decided to set up camp on your balcony, which overlooked the gorging valleys below, bringing out the spare bedrooms mattress to suit your kids upon. You brought an abundance of blankets with you too, because it got cold quite quickly here at nighttime. The warm tones beaming from the sky, mixed with the calming ambience the strung-up lanterns gave off gave the evening a very homely feel - even if you were actually thousands of miles away.
Toby was being a right bugger and was abusing his new found ability to crawl. Astrid didn't start crawling until 9 months, but Toby was speeding around everywhere like Lewis Hamilton at the moment. You were so proud of him for crawling, but he sure did test your limits with it. The other day he crawled through your cat-flap and got himself stuck, and people wondered why you were constantly stressed.
Astrid held your hand as you walked down the stairs, with Toby sitting on your hip contently.
"Be careful." You softly spoke when she lost her footing a little. The stairs here were really tall for some reason, a flaw Harry was pissed at the architecture for, which made it difficult for Astrid's little legs to climb and descend.
