>Reader is a uni student, attending a dreadful 7 AM class. You happen to be blockmates with Kyle.

You breathed in an angry sigh. The paper in your hand, where your class schedule has been printed was almost crumpled by your fist balling close. You wanted to drop the subject, but as a graduating student, you knew that wouldn't be the best option.

Staring up, you saw the room's sign that says the designated room printed onto your class sched and sighed again. Well, one 7 AM class wouldn't hurt, right?

You walked in and found the room was crowded by only a handful of people, with the professor still yet to come. You found a seat just right by the window, and putting your bag down, you then took a seat right after. The pros of early morning classes was that hallways were comfortably quiet and empty. No abuzzing sounds from here or there and no football junkies hanging out. You just had to get used to it for one term, and that only.

"Is this seat taken?"

A voice of a man brought you out of your thoughts, making you look right up to him in a flash. You paused, primarily because of how tall he was, and for the most part, was that he looked hella fine.

"Um," you opened your mouth, processing your thoughts all at once to prevent yourself from stuttering, "yeah, no. No, it's not. But actually...I don't really know. I just came here and...sat down."

He chuckled under his breath, nodding. "Let's just settle with no one sits here, then."

The man took the seat right next to yours, before putting his bag down the floor. He was wearing just a white shirt underneath his maroon hoodie, a pair of dark denim jeans, and some sneakers. But he's gotta be the finest man to ever wing that kinda outfit.

You cleared your throat before you looked away, staring out the window. You wondered when the professor would step in, and start the class so the torturous awkward silence between the two of you would stop.

To somehow alleviate what you felt at the moment, you decided to fish for your journal and netbook from your bag. You placed your netbook on top of your lap, and your journal on your desk as you opened and schemed over the notes you have written over the weeks.

"Lakers?" you heard the man spoke, making you turn your head to see him looking your journal, "you're a fan?"

You stared at him, unsure of what to say and whatever he was referring to. He shook his head with a small twitch on the side of his lips. "Where are my manners? It's Kyle, by the way."

"Oh," you chuckled, "and I'm (y/n). About the Lakers..."

"Your journal cover," he said pointing your notebook, "Laker logo. You a fan?"

You let a small laugh, slowly shaking your head to him, "Oh no, not really. This was a, uh," you flipped the journal to its front cover, revealing it to him and yourself once again, "a gift I got from last year's Christmas exchange gift with my cousins. Most of them were boys, so, I got this instead of some girl-ish stuff."

"Ah," he chuckled while nodding, "that's cool. But you watch NBA?"

"Sometimes, yes," you smiled upon your next thought, "in fact I went with my dad to Chicago last year to watch NBA All-star. I met LeBron and KD, I didn't have a photo, though."

"Awesome. Your dad must've been so cool."

You smiled, "Yeah, he is. But I don't really know why I'm telling you stuff like this-"

"No, it's totally fine," he responded right away, cutting you off, "I'm actually with the basketball varsity team. And I will be playing for the Lakers in the NBA Summer League. It's not like I'm bragging about it, but-"

"No, it doesn't sound like that," you waved your hand infront of him, "for the record, that's super cool. Congratulations and good luck. I hope you guys win this year's chip."

Kyle chuckled, his warm smile fluttering back at you, "Maybe you'd be interested enough to...you know, watch some games. Only if you're not busy at all."

You shook your head, a lopsided grin on your lips, "I don't mind. But yeah, only if I'm not busy with all of these," you vaguely gestured your hand mid-air.

It made Kyle laugh, the crinkle on the sides of his eyes showing. Just as when he was about to respond to you, the door of the room swung open, giving way to a middle-aged man whom you guessed was your professor for the class.

"We'll talk later."

He said, giving you a wink afterwards.

Author's note: The NBA Summer League I referred to happened last 2017, and they really won that year's chip. He was also hailed as the Championship MVP, and All-NBA Summer League Second Team.

The Chicago location of NBA All-star was 2019. I just mixed it up. LOL
