The distraction, as predicted, was not going well.  Left right and centre clones were falling, even Obi Wan and I were struggling under the pressure. This was the war I'd been expecting, the one I'd heard about. This was what I'd been afraid of, and no Anakin wasn't here not only did I have to deal with it alone, but I had to protect a padawan to.

"Ari get down!" I yelled across the battle before throwing my saber out and using the force to push it through a destroyer droid that was targeting the girl. I didn't even know it was a move I could make I just acted on instinct, honestly surprised when the hilt returned to my hand. All this fire, I was worrying a great deal for Anakin and Ahsoka's mission.

"Thank you master!" The girl called across while panting slightly. As my eyes met hers for a moment I saw beyond the confident determined spark.

Ari was a child, this was no place for children. It wasn't even a place for knights of my age but I'd do my duty so she didn't have to. Fighting the bolts didn't hit me as hard as my thoughts about the order.

How could they just openly send children out into all this? Did she even get a briefing or preparation training?

"Master! Behind you!"

Suddenly I heard the girl call out, piercing through my thoughts. As I went to turn however and my eyes widened at the sight of incoming droids blaster fire flew over my shoulders in an aimed manner and took out the small cluster of battle droids.

Looking back over my shoulder with my saber lowered to my side my eyes met with the girl I'd been so worried about. She stood there was a confident grin, saber in one hand and re-claimed blaster in the other.  Alright perhaps I misjudged this little girl, she certainly seems to be able think fast under pressure.

"Thank you," I spoke with a pant while lowering my saber in the moment of quiet. "That's some impressive marksmanship, who taught you to shoot like that?" I asked as she hopped down and walked over to join me, hooking the blaster into her belt as she went. I'm sure Obi Wan would have something to say about that if he where here, he's near constantly going on about his disliking of blasters.

"Master Starfallen taught me." The girl replied with a hum, greenish blue eyes meeting mine.

"Ah I see, that makes perfect sense actually." I replied with a small nod. It really did make sense, my master had been the one to find Ari all those years ago, she was perhaps the only youngling the woman could stand being around. Not to mention my master was one of the only Jedi I certainly knew of that owned several blasters.

"Mhm." Ari absentmindedly hummed and since it seemed she was distracted I looked round to see what she was looking at. The girls eyes where set off towards the distance, towards where Anakin and Ahsoka should be. Seemed she was as worried for her friend I was for mine. Well, but more than a friend in my case.

"They'll be alright little one don't you worry, Anakin's the most impressive Jedi I know, I'm sure he'll..." My words reached an early stop as I felt and heard multiple troopers rushing towards us. Brows furrowing my body tensed and moved back into a more defiance position as I caught the first glimpses of blue and white rush around the street corner.

"...you were saying master?" Ari spoke up with a bit of a worried look to her. I patted the girls unprotected shoulder before stepping out towards the incoming troopers.

"Fives!" I called out above the growing fire. "What's going on? Where's general Kenobi?" I questioned while rushing over towards the ARC trooper and sliding back down behind a set of crates for cover as I arrived.

"The general ordered for us to fall back immediately, without support from our cannons we're no match for there numbers." Five's replied while keeping his sights ahead on the enemy and firing whenever a shot became clear.
