Messaging Duke

Once you get back to your apartment your mum tells you that you're all sitting down for a family dinner because your dad's normally at work but tonight he's not. You go to your room and try to cover up some of the more visible hickeys with makeup and you look in the mirror and you have managed to completely hide them.

You, your mum and your dad are all sat around the table eating your mums homemade lasagna and your dad says "so y/n, how was your day?" You swallow the food in your mouth and say "it was good thanks. How was yours?" And he responds, saying "yeah it was alright, how about you Debby?" Your mum takes a sip of her drink and says "it was really good. I managed to get the rest of the boxes unpacked and put away so now everything is in place and we can officially call this place home." You all smile and continue to eat the food.

After you finish eating you thank your mum for making the food and you go to your room. You check your phone to see if you have any messages from Duke and you see that you have 3 messages that he sent 20 minutes apart from each other.

Duke: Hey y/n!

Duke: Everything alright?

Duke: Is it about earlier? If it is then I'm really sorry. I'm sorry for trying to do anything with you, I know you said you don't want to take anything too fast but you just looked so good so I couldn't help myself but from now on I won't try anything like that.

You: Hey Duke, sorry I was having dinner with my mum and dad. Obviously it's not your fault and ngl you're pretty hot so I can't help myself sometimes either, it's just the whole relationship thing I want to take slow.

Duke: Oh I feel stupid now 😂 anyway how was your dinner?

You: No you're not stupid, don't worry 😂 it was good thanks. Have you had anything to eat yet?

Duke: That's good then. I haven't eaten anything yet but I'll probably order something later.

You: Oh let me guess, are you gonna order Canes? 😂

Duke: Maybe I am but Canes is good so you can't blame me😂

You: True 😂 Sorry but I'm gonna have to go now. I'll message you tomorrow

Duke: Okay I'll talk to you tomorrow then and if you're down then we can go out or you can come to mine.

You: Yeah sounds good. I'll probably be free so I'll message tomorrow and see what I'm doing. Goodnight Duke x

Duke: Okay I'll see you tomorrow then. Goodnight y/n sleep well x

*back to normal*

You smile while reading the messages and put you phone down. You get changed into some comfier clothes and decide to watch something on Netflix. You can't find anything to watch so you decide to just go on TikTok and the first this you do is check to see if Dukes posted. You see he's live on his third account and you instantly click on it to watch it. As you join you realise he's talking about you. "Seriously guys she's just a friend and I don't know what you think I've been doing with her but Larray was here with us all day so we was all just hanging out together." You smile because you know exactly what you did with him earlier and nobody else knows. After about 10 minutes people are still talking about you and Duke and start saying that they ship you and Duke goes red. "Guys she literally doesn't want a relationship right now so just stop shipping us." But as soon as he said this people started asking how he knew you didn't want a relationship and if he's asked you out. Duke got even redder and said "okay you guys are getting too involved now. I'm single and so's y/n but we're just friend and that's all we're going to be so just stop." You could tell that he was getting genuinely annoyed with it so you started to feel bad for him but you couldn't help but laugh at some of the things people were saying in the comments. Duke was getting more and more annoyed and he said "I think I'm going to go in a second guys because this was just meant to be a light, fun live but you guys won't stop talking about y/n so I might be live tomorrow but I don't know. Make sure to like the TikTok I just posted and just remember I appreciate you all." And the live ended. You decide to try to get some sleep so you put your phone on your bedside table and turn off your light. You start thinking of Dukes cute smile and you eventually drift off to sleep.

The next morning you wake up and go on TikTok. Your fyp is full of people talking about how Duke started blushing when he was talking about you on the live and all you could do was smile while watching all of them. Duke messages you so you message back.

Duke: hey, have you seen the clips from my live?

You: yeah I been watching them all morning and I watched your live anyway.

Duke: please don't like any of the clips because I just want people to stop but if they get likes from it then they won't.

You: okay I won't that's fine. How are you feeling about it all?

Duke: it's just stressing me out and it's genuinely really pissing me off.

You: but you do like me, don't you? so why is it pissing you off?

Duke: yeah I like you but I don't want anyone knowing so everyone saying it is just annoying me.

You: yeah I understand. Both my parents will be out for most of the day so if you wanna come over then you can and hopefully it'll make you feel better.

Duke: yeah that'll be nice, thanks. I'll be over in about an hour if that's okay.

You: yeah that works for me. I'll see you later.

Duke: okay bye, I'll see you in a bit.

You: byeee

*back to normal*
You get up and then go to the kitchen to get something to eat. You brush your teeth and then you get in the shower. Once you've finished in the shower you get changed and dry your hair and get ready for Duke to come over.
