Duke Depp and reader

The explanation

You start scrolling through TikTok, still lead in bed. As you scroll onto the next video, you get a notification. It's a message from Larray.

*messages*
Larri: hey, Duke is ignoring my messages so when you talk to him can you just tell him I know it was weird and I didn't really think it through I just wanted you two to be happy

You: yeah I'll tell him. Don't worry about him ignoring you though, he just needs some time to think it through. I'll get him to message you later

Larri: ok thanks y/n :) I'll talk to you later

You: np :) bye Larri

*back to normal*
You go onto your messages with Duke and think about trying to talk to him but you decide he might still be angry so you just leave it for now. You decide to scroll through Twitter for a bit and you see that Dukes just tweeted saying "taking the day off see y'all tomorrow ☺️". You look through the replies and see that everyone is telling him to take as long off as he wants and telling him that they're here for him so you know that'll cheer him up. You go back to TikTok but you hear a knock at the door. You jump off your bed and run to the door, hoping it's Duke. As you open the door Duke just stands there staring at you, you can see red around his eyes so you know he's been crying. "Duke, I'm so sorry" you say and you hug him. He hugs you back and you walk into your apartment and go to sit on the couch.

"You do realise how crazy that was y/n?" Duke says, staring at you seriously. You look down and say "yeah I'm sorry Duke. I really wanted something to happen between us and Larri just wanted us to be happy." Duke puts his hand on your arm and says "I know what you mean, I want something to happen between us too but it'll just come at the right time. We're trying to hard to make this work and it's just making things go slower." You stay silent for a minute and then look Duke in the eyes and say "I really am sorry and so's Larri so can he come over to explain his side?" Duke thinks for a second and then nods his head. You ring Larri and tell him to come to your apartment.

You and Duke just sit on the couch and you play with his hair while you wait for Larray. You could tell that something was wrong with Duke but you was planning on waiting until after Larray had gone until you was gonna talk to him about it. The door knocks and you go and answer it. Larray walks in and sits next to Duke. "Hey Duke, I really want to apologise for earlier. I wasn't thinking straight because I just wanted you two to be happy but now I think about it, I realise it was weird and you two should just let it happen when it does." Duke doesn't look at Larray but all of a sudden he stands up and starts yelling "you don't realise how weird it was Larri! It was fucking weird alright! I get you want us to be happy but we are happy already and now all I'm thinking about is how this whole thing could just be another little plan that'll eventually ruin everything!" You put your hand on Dukes shoulder and pull him back to the couch so he can sit down. You've never seen him this angry before and neither had Larray so you was both shocked. Larray can clearly see something else is going on with Duke so he turns to you and says "I think you should talk to him alone and I'll give him more time. Please get him to text me when he's ready to talk." You nod at Larray and walk him out.

"Duke, what's going on with you? You're clearly stressed out." As you walk back over to the couch, Dukes holding his head in his hands. "I don't know, okay? I just-" Duke stops talking and throws himself backwards onto the couch and covers his face with his hands. "You just what Duke?" He stays quiet for a few seconds and you fall backwards towards him so you can put your arm round him. He looks at you and says "I just am scared that I'm gonna mess up." You look at him confused "mess up what?" He puts his hand on your leg and says "mess up us, y/n. What if I'm not good enough? Or what if I do something wrong and you don't want me anymore? I'm scared of losing what we have y/n." You can see him tearing up so tears start forming in your eyes as well. "We're never gonna lose us, Duke. Even if one of us messes up we would still push through it to get us back, I don't ever wanna lose you, okay?" Duke nods his head and agrees with you. You both fall asleep in each others arms shortly after.
