Meeting Dukes friend

You wake up and remember the dream about Duke you had last night and you smile to yourself. You look over at your phone and see that you still haven't got a message back from Duke. You think about going over to his but you decide it's best not to because he might just want time to himself.

You stay in your shorts and t-shirt that you sleep in and you throw Dukes hoodie on because you left his while wearing it. You get up and go to the kitchen to get a bowl of cereal but someone knocks the door. Your parents aren't awake yet so you decide to answer it so they can have a lie in. As you open the door, before you can even see who it is, someone hugs you without saying anything. You would recognise that hug anywhere. You then hug him back and your eyes start welling up again. You stay in silence while hugging and then Duke whispers "I'm sorry". Your tears start rolling down your face, partially from sadness that you genuinely hurt him but mainly from happiness that he's back.

After a few minutes of just embracing each other, you finally let go and just stare each other in the eyes. "I'm sorry if I did anything wro-" you start saying but Duke cuts you off. "No, it's all my fault. I'm sorry y/n. I don't want to ruin anything so I'm happy to just be friends if that's what you want." Duke just stares at you waiting for a response. You don't know what to say do you just hug him again. "I do want a relationship with you but I just don't think I'm ready yet." You explain to Duke. "I understand y/n," he says still hugging you "I would wait forever.". You smile when he says this and hold on tighter.

*a few hours later*

*you and Duke went out to eat and you just got back to his*

"Thanks for paying Duke but seriously I would've split the bill." You say as you walk into his apartment. "Honestly it's fine. I feel like I need to treat you after yesterday." Duke says back. "Honestly it's fine. I understand why you was like that so let's just forget it." You say to him. Duke stays quiet and just nods his head.

You're both sat on his sofa when he gets a message.
*messages on Dukes phone*

Larri: Hey Dukeeee!! Do you wanna meet up or do something today?

Duke: Hey Larri, I'm with a friend at the moment but I can ask her if she's alright with it and you can come here.

Larri: If not it's fine but I wanna meet this friend of yours 😏😂

Duke: honestly she's just a friend trust me 😂

Larri: sureee I've seen those comments and sreenshots from your live 😂

Duke: omg everyone's seen that! If you wanna come over then you better shut up about it 😂

Larri: okay okay just tell me if your 'friend' is okay with me coming over 😂

*back to normal*
"That was my friend Larri and he was wondering if you'd be alright with him coming over" Duke says to you. "Wait like Larri as in Larray?!" You say back to Duke, excited. Duke laughs and says "yeah Larray. So you alright with him coming over for a bit?" You tell Duke that it's a pointless question because you'd obviously say yes so Duke messages Larri and tells him to head over.
