"Are you still reading that book?"

I closed the book and went back to preparing the cake.

"I told you to throw that along with the other one! What if something bad happens again because of that book?!"

The person yelling at me's footsteps are now getting louder and louder.

"Ya! Kang Taehyun-"

I held the cake and faced him. He just stood there, silent, waiting for my next move.

"What's the occasion?" he asked when I was finally in front of him.

"Nothing. I just wanted to surprise you," I said.

I put the cake down on the counter.

I suddenly felt his arms on my waist.

"I love you," he gently whispered in my ear.

I looked at him in the eyes.

"Thank you," I said emotionally.

"Thank you for coming back."

"I'm glad to be home too."

I hugged him back tightly.

"I love you Beomgyu."
