I'm still in shock. I'm living with my family as well as many other elves in the Forbidden Cities. The place I was seldom able to go to is now my home.
The Neverseen destroyed many of our magnificently expansive homes and our home now is but a meager shadow of what it once was.
I don't even know where my friends live at this point. We all fled in a haze of chaos. It was enough that the places that were familiar to us were destroyed, we didn't need any more elves dead to add to the list of tragedies.
I wipe away the tears that drip down my pale cheek when I think about it.
I wish I just knew where my friends were. It's been a month since I've seen them. Our imparters don't work here, and I'm just getting the hang of using my cell phone. I don't have any of their numbers, only Fitz's, and you'd be amazed at how many tam songs and sophie f's there are on social media.

Today is my 13th day at work. Yes, I've been counting. Every day I survive with Keefe as my boss is a day worth celebrating.
Even though I dislike Keefe. And have disliked him almost from the start he's my link to my past life. He and Linh.
I must begrudgingly admit that I miss my friends. As much as they would annoy me at times I just want to know where they are. That they're okay.
That we have each other.
I've turned into such a sap.
Some people say that tragedy changes you and I guess it's true.
But part of me will always be Tam the shade.
The bell dings as I open the door to ExPresso Shots- the coffee shop I work in.
"Why hello there Mr. Grumpypants. If you don't come with the right attitude, at least you come on time."
I still can't believe Keefe is my manager.
This is going to be a long existence.
