*Biana*

Today is my first day at National University. They have programs for people on any academic level and I made a good impression, so despite my spotty education, I got accepted.

I'm looking forward to it.

I'm Biana Vacker and I don't work.

School though, I can do.

The bus comes to a screeching halt before me and I cough at the exhaust fumes it emits.

I wanted to take Uber, but my parents said I can't be spoiled. I have to live to learn as people do. And that's with limitations. For the most part anyway.

I'm not happy about it, but what can I do?

I step onto the bus and hand the driver the money. I put my gloved hand around the scratched up silver pole. No way I'm touching it directly.

That's just gross.

I open my compact mirror and check my reflection, satisfied. I want to make a good first impression.

And how Biana Vacker does that is by looking good and exuding confidence.

I serve Merissa her third cup of coffee and let out a sigh. I know she just orders so that I come to her table. Every time she tries to rope me into a conversation and every time I weed myself out of it. I only have eyes for one girl, and nothing will change that, and certainly not a coffee crazed giggling girl.

"Why don't you sit?" She asks me while motioning to the empty chair across from her.

"Because I'm working," I wave my hands around to bring her attention to the waiting tables.

"Why can't someone else do it and you sit with me?" She grins

"Because I need to pull my weight. I don't get paid for doing nothing."

"The customers hate to be kept waiting," Keefe calls

When I return to the counter Keefe raises an eyebrow, "I didn't think I'd have to tell you that you shouldn't be flirting with the ladies during work hours."

"I wasn't-"

"I'm kidding, I know you like someone else." he winks

My eyes widen in surprise and Keefe laughs, "I know you think you're so subtle but you're not."

"Whatever," I huff as I scramble to make a pumpkin spice drink for a customer.
