*Biana*
Another day at college. At least I don't have any major assignments to worry about right now. Not that I know of anyway.
The morning, surprisingly, goes by fairly quickly. Although that must be because I only have one morning period on Tuesday and Thursday. Although it is a double period lasting two and half hours. At least the teacher isn't a dud.
By the time its over, I'm reaching into my bag to take out my lunch. I have a short lunch break and I'm ready for food.
I don't feel my lunch.
Shoot.
My mind's eye sees my forgotten lunch sitting on the kitchen counter.
I text Fitz but he writes back im- which means in meeting. He's dealing with a customer now.
I groan.
Then I decide to face time call Tam.
"Hey Biana," his astonished face appears on my screen.
"Hey Tam. Um I have a favor to ask...but you can say no."
"What is it?" He asks curiously.
"I well I forgot my lunch at home," I look away, "and I was wondering if you can drop off something for me from ExPresso shots."
"I have no problem doing that for you," Tam replies, "but have you ever heard of Uber eats or Postmates?"
I guess my scrunched brows were enough an answer.
"I'll explain it to you when I see you."
"Thanks. You're a life saver."
Tam laughs, "Wait," he says, "why don't we just go out for lunch?"
I feel my cheeks burn.
"As friends," he clarifies sheepishly, looking a little pink himself.
That dang word.
"Well..." just then I receive a notification that my next class is cancelled, "that would be great."
"So I'll see you soon."
"Yeah, where should I meet you?"
"I'll come to you."
"You sure?"
"I'm sure," he steals a glance behind him, "I need a change of scenery."
Then he hangs up.
*Tam*
I walk swiftly to Biana's college. I don't have such a long lunchbreak, even on extended time, and I want to make the most of it.
I reach a classic looking building. One that looks like an institution.
Teal meets silver. Silver meets teal.
But not like last time.
"Fitz?"
"Hello Tam," Fitz crosses his arms. "What are you doing here?"
"I was about to ask you the same Fitz," Biana steps out of the building and walks down the stone steps.
"I came to bring you your lunch Biana."
"Thanks," she says, "but I thought you were busy."
"Not too busy for you." Fitz turns away from Biana to face me once more, "But I ask again what are you doing here?"
"I asked him to come," supplies Biana, "were just going to grab lunch."
Fitz's fist clenches and Biana pulls him away to talk to him privately. I don't know what she tells him, since they speak in hush tones, but he looks a lot calmer.
"Have fun," he gives me a friendly pat on the shoulder, "and nice to see you again Tam. I'll see you around."
Then he waves and walks off.
"Follow me." I take Biana to a corner restaurant called Pizza Palace. She orders an ice coffee and Caesar salad and I order a shake and a sandwich.
"I'm glad we got to meet up," Biana says as we sit down with our food.
"Me too," I tell her then clear my throat.
All of a sudden there's some sort of drama that occurs at the table right next to us and their food goes flying.
The manager rushes over to deal with it.
"You got something in your hair," Biana giggles. "Let me help you," she reaches over and takes the object out of my hair. The object is a French fry.
"You washed your hair recently right?"
"Of course."
"Good," then she pops the fry into her mouth.
I must admit I didn't expect that.
