"Woah." I did a full spin. We were outside! But we were inside. I stood in a crystal clear glass box, so clear it seemed invisible.
"Alpha, I didn't know this existed." Hunter exclaimed. We were all shocked. There was a large couch with pillows and furs with an attached pad that could turn it into a bed. Snow surrounded the glass box but not the top.
"The glass is heated."
I walked to the wall and gently placed my hand on the glass; it was warm to the touch. I pressed my cheek to the warmth and sighed. The sun was just peaking over the horizon now. "Look at her."
"Who?" Hunter questioned.
"The sun." Luciano answered.
I hummed, "Isn't she beautiful? She'll start coloring the rest of the sky soon."
"I mean, I guess. It's just light."
"Yes it's light, but it's so mesmerizing. How does it bend its rays for color? I will never understand. Some say science, some say magic, I don't question it anymore."
"She's right, it's very pretty," Emma watched the ambitious ball of fire too.
"Why is it a she? I say we call it a he." Jake scratched his head. No one bothered entertaining his bait for argument and ignored him.
Donte leaned back on the couch with the rest of his friends, "I've never looked at the sun this way before. It truly is a treasure."
"You see how the clouds look like they're glowing? And the trees are waking? Birds will start to chirp and the world will rise. The sky is already turning pink and blue like cotton candy. Violet is one of my favorites."
We sat in silence, watching the sun in all of her glory. I kneeled against the glass while everyone else relaxed into the couch. Of course Luciano excluded himself by leaning on the side wall to cast a gaze over us.
My fingers traced the snow at the bottom of the glass almost like I could feel it's coolness. The energy of outside was channeling through my finger on the glass. My bones felt as though the gravity turned off.
"Are you alright?" The large paw on my shoulder made me jump. "Yes, why?" His brows furrowed, "No reason. We should eat now, they are drifting to sleep."
I looked back to the sky, she had fully risen. The sky was a pale blue glittering on the white snow. "Okay."
We woke up the kids and ate our breakfast slowly. I cleaned the used dishes then followed the heard back to their beds. Luciano was closing thick blinds over the windows to create the illusion of night. I watched him from our mattress.
"Is it interesting?" He voiced.
"Very," I smirked, "I forget how curtains work."
"They are not very complicated. Perhaps you can practice opening them when we wake." He turned to me with a serious face. "Are you cold, would you like me to build a fire?"
"No thank you, I have a blanket. I'm going to fall asleep any second anyway, I don't want you to waste the wood." I yawned.
"You know that you are the only one we use the wood for, it will not be a waste."
"Just come to bed, I'll be fine." I rolled under a blanket as my words turned into a drawn out whine.
"Yes my queen, anything you say my queen." He rolled his eyes. He ran a hand over his face then through his hair while walking to the bed. "What's the matter?" I peak up at him.
"I am just tired, that is all."
I patted the space next to me. "Then lay your butt down and close your eyes."
