Chapter 18: Dabi

Todoroki's POV

"She's having her date at 5?"

"Yeah, that's what I've heard from Takenaga. She's going to see a movie with him" Jirou told me.

"Okay, I'll check on her since I'm still here at the mall."

"Thanks Todoroki."

It's almost 5pm. I have ended my date with Akari quite early, unfortunately I didn't get too much information about Touya. But I was happy that my date with her went well after the awkwardness that had happened.

I walked outside the cafe when I suddenly passed by the vintage shop that I saw earlier. I looked towards the display but unfortunately, the hedgehog was already gone. I let out a sigh in disappointment but then my attention was caught when I heard a voice. A sweet feminine laugh. I looked around and there I saw Yaoyorozu. She looked fine as always specially with her black dress that fits her perfectly. She was holding the hedgehog from the vintage shop and she's with Takenaga.

I took a step towards them, I was planning to grab Yaoyorozu away from Takenaga but I saw that she's happy with him. Her smile shows genuine happiness, maybe she really like Takenaga. I felt a sharp pain in my chest, seeing her being happy with someone else pains me deeply. So this is what jealousy feels like huh?

I can't take this anymore, I'm out of here.

I walked towards the escalator while I stare at nothing. My thoughts are still at Yaoyorozu and that lucky bastard Takenaga and I can't do anything about that.

I reminisced every moments Yaoyorozu and I have shared in the past;

The way I caught her when she slipped at the mall when we went for a shopping.

When we got stucked in the wardrobe at the hotel and she was just wearing her bikinis and I'm just on my bath towel.

Her incredibly cute smile when I gave her a rattan bag from the park

I am craving for more of her, more moments with her. But I think it's best to let go. I walked towards the exit.

"Just stick to the plan." I heard someone hissed.

"IT'S DABI AND TWICE! Wait, what are they doing here? And what are they planning?" I walked towards them but they vanished as they blended into the huge crowd at the mall. My heartbeat raced, just like how it did at the park when the center exploded. "This can't be good, I have to get back to Yaoyorozu."

Yaoyorozu's POV

Takenaga and I walked towards the theater, we already have our tickets to the movie. We walked together, entering a huge room filled with darkness. Takenaga held me by my waist which made me flinch. I was not expecting that. Suddenly he held my arm firmly, which surprised me.

"W-what are you doing?-" I tried to look at his face despite the darkness but then with one swift movement he managed to cover my mouth and nose firmly with a handkerchief. That's when I knew I was in trouble.

I can feel myself choking as I breathe into the cloth Takenaga shoved into my face. My lungs are getting tight as they were being filled with an unknown fume. I have to fight back or else things will not get pretty.

With all the strength left in me, I tried my best to push Takenaga away from me but he was too strong and my tight lungs made it much harder for me to get away from him.

"Think Yaoyorozu, what should I do? I can't fight him in this state. Think! What would Todoroki-san do?"

Flashback of Todoroki started to fill my thoughts

"But... if ever he did something wrong, tell me...." (Chapter 3) That's when I remembered Todoroki's warning. My eyes got wider, I had an Idea.

I created an alarm system with flashing lights from my hands to catch everyone in the theater's attention. Takenaga started to panic as it brought everyone's attention to us. He was off guard, and I took this opportunity to push him with all my strength once again. He stumbled backwards and finally I was free. He was about to stroke his hands towards me but I quickly took a sharp turn into a corner hiding from him.

I ran fast as I could to exit the theater, I took my phone to call Jirou but the first name that appeared on my screen was Todoroki. I didn't noticed his message.

Todoroki: Where are you?

I pressed his name in my phone to call him as I continued to ran. I looked back at me to see Takenaga, who's running after me. Good thing it was crowded in the mall, it enabled me to hide from him easily. I was still looking backwards making sure that I was losing him but unfortunately I bumped into someone else.

"I'm sorry"

"It's fine." The guy said as he smiled at me.

"D-dabi?" It was my first time to see him in person, but I was aware about what he looked like after what happened at the Forest Training Camp. I felt my body shiver at the sight of him, my heart raced quickly in my chest as I mentally panicked.

I tried to run away quickly from him but he gripped my arm quickly puling me into him.

"I think it's better for you to stay still or else..." His grip on my arm tightened, he was standing behind me as he held his other hand onto my waist. "... this will be the end of you."

I gulped upon hearing his threat. I cant fight him, not in this position.

"Yaoyorozu! Where are you?" Todoroki's voice was heard from my phone.

"Should I call for help? Dabi's holding my waist, I'll be roasted if I do it. But if I don't escape now, god knows what will happen to me. Should I answer Todoroki? Should I keep my mouth shut? Should I fight? Think Momo!"

"Theater Right Wing!" I screamed in help despite Dabi's threat. I felt his hands getting warmer and warmer

"YOU BITCH!" Dabi snatched my phone from me as she held my waist firmly, heating it with his quirk. I quickly created an insulator shield from my waist, letting it pop from my waist where he's currently heating. It tore my dress, but I didn't mind it as long as I'm protected.

I quickly created a knife from my hand to cut his hand from my waist to free myself, but I was caught off guard. I was too focused on his hand on my waist that I didn't noticed his other hand quickly flamed aiming toward me.

I closed my eyes facing away from his flames. "Is this the end of me?"
