Chris's P.O.V.

" See you later ." Ashton said before kissing my cheek .I walked in my class and took a seat. I took out my books and pens and waited for the the lesson to begin. Our English teacher came in and she immediately started the lesson . I heard someone giggling and instinctively turned to see . Of course , it was Ashley .When she saw me , she immediately started laughing even more . I hate it when people laugh at me , because then I start thinking about what I did to cause that reaction .

'' I mean , I dont even know why he is with her. Look at her , she is plain and boring and fat .I , on the other hand , am perfect for Ashton .'' she whispered loud enough for me to hear. Tears stung in my eyes , but I fought them back . Why cant she leave me alone ? As soon as the bell rung , I rushed out of the classroom . I started running towards Ashton's classroom , but I was tripped and fell on the ground . Everyone started laughing . I quickly got up and started running again . I bumped into someone and turned my head to see that it was Ashton . Relief washed my entire body , as he smiled at me. He placed his arm over my shoulder and kissed my cheek .

'' How was class ?'' he asked as we walked.

''Good .'' I said nervously.

'' You sure ?'' he asked and I nodded .

The rest of the day was horrible .I am just glad it is over .Unfortunately though , Michael got detention for cheating on a test and has to stay at school . So I am home alone , as Anne is working .I opened the small drawer on my desk and looked at the shiny blade . I haven't self-harmed in a while. Ashton distracts me ,he makes me forget about cutting.He makes me feel alive .I took it in my palm and gazed it at it . Do I really want to do this ?Do I want to get back to this harmful habit ? Without thinking even more , I pressed it against my skin .

Ashton's P.O.V.

I was sitting in my room , doing nothing . I decided to call Chris to see what she is up to . After three rings , she picked it up .

'' Hey, just called to --.'' I said but I was cut off.

''I am sorry , Ashton . I am sorry .'' she sobbed . I immediately got up .

'' What happened , Chris ? Are you okay ? What's wrong ?'' I asked .

'' I am so sorry . '' she cried .

'' Babe , listen to me . I will be there in five minutes.'' I said and hung up . I rushed to my car and started the engine .I started driving , passing the speed limit . I dont care right now , I just want to get to her as soon as possible . I wonder what happened , she was okay at school today . I parked the car outside of the house and quickly rung the bell . The door slowly opened only to reveal a crying Chris in front of me . I immediately stepped in and hugged her.Her trembling hands wrapped around my waist , as I closed the door behind me using my foot . I slowly guided her on the couch where she sat . I caught a glimpse of her arm, oh no. I took her hand in mine and inspected her cuts . Her arm looked pretty bad.Thankfully it had healed smoothly from the time that her father cut her with the glass , but now it looks worse.

" I am sorry." she cried even harder .

"Why did you do it?" I asked her .

" I don't know .I saw the blade and I tried not to . I tried ,Ashton ." she sobbed.

"Where are your blades , Chris?" I asked her and she left , only to come back holding three pieces of  sharp metal ."Give them to me ." I said sternly and she handed them to me ."Come with me."I said and she followed me to the bathroom .I angrily threw them on the toilet and she grasped lightly. "Flush them." I instructed and she looked at me . ''Now.'' I said a bit louder and she did so . I hate being harsh on her , but I cant stand seeing her like this .I heard her sigh beside me .''Come here .'' I said and brought her closer to me . We left the bathroom and went to the living room .

''Are you mad ?'' she asked and I nodded . '' I am sorry .'' she added .

'' I dont want you to hurt , Chris. Dont do this to yourself .'' I said , as she was looking at the ground . I lifted her chin and forced her to look t me .'' I am here for you , Chris .'' I added and she started crying.

'' You shouldn't even bother with me , Ashton .I dont deserve it .'' she said sobbing . I pulled her in for a hug .

'' I hate seeing you like this , Chris .I dont want you to be like this.I-I love you .'' I said and she looked at me .I have never said I love you to a girl. But with Chris is different . I love her , I care for her . I want to make her happy . I want her to feel safe .I have never felt like this before. She makes me a better person. She is helping me overcome my problems. She cares for me. She gave me another chance , when no one did.She accepts me for who I am . And I genuinely love her . I love , Chris. I love the fact that I can make her smile . I love her smile . I love the little sparkle she has in her eyes , whenever she solves an equation . I love the fact that she stutters when she is nervous , that she is always excited for educational trips. I love it when she kisses me softly on the lips. I just now hope that she says it back. I looked her in the eyes , waiting for a response .

'' I love you too , Ashton .'' she said , slightly smiling , before I gave her a soft kiss on the lips.

Helloooooo , how are you ?? I hope you liked this chapter . Just to clarify something , I know that Anne isnt the real name of Michael's mum and that Liz isnt the real name of Ashton's sister . I just didnt want to put the real names in the story . IMPORTANT : if I was to make a sequel for this story , would you read it ??? plz tell me on the comment section !!!

I will give the shoutouts on the next chap . I am sorry . I just have a lot of homework to do and I havent done it yet .
