Broken

The sound of doors opening & a nurse walking out of my room is what woke me up.

My chest felt heavy, my heart had been put in a blender mangled & then put back into me. Not to mention this emptiness, I felt hollow strangely & it made no sense.

Nurse Beau walked into the room with some breakfast, oats & orange juice to be precise.

"Oh good morning! Didn't think you'd be up so soon I was going to leave your breakfast right here. Now Ella, tell me how do you feel? Your wolf has completely healed but you're probably already aware of that. No need to keep you in this uncomfortable hospital bed any longer my sweet you're all fine & dandy!" Beau spoke cheerily, a wide smile on his face.

"I feel okay? Where is my father... & what about Wesley?" I muttered the last few words of my sentence out embarrassed at myself for being so weak & asking where he is.

"Oh, you don't remember?" He spoke placing his hands on the edge of the bed.

He let out a loud sigh before taking a seat in the chair next to me. I silently tried to pick up Wesleys scent but I couldn't at all.

"Well, both the Alphas in your life argued about who's you are after you dropped the 'Wesley has a girlfriend bomb' pretty soon after that you went crazy. Told everyone to leave, your father was the last to leave not too long ago. He left to go to Luna Ruby's pack with the rest of them. Everyones gone, as you requested.

However, Jacob stayed to help you form a plan. Once you've got that sorted your father will help you out with getting the army set up" Beau explained the situation.

A part of me recalled it all, ever so slightly but it was like my wolf was forcing me not to remember? I know it makes no sense. But I could always feel when she's forcing something, mainly it's shifting or tearing a rouges throat out but I knew what she was doing.

"So what about Wesley & Ryan? Not that I care, just don't want them to disturb me you know. I'd hate to be disturbed especially when I don't even care-"

"Alpha Wesley & Beta Ryan returned back to their pack. Your mate was the last one that left, right before you knocked out. When Ryan walked out, he told me you had gone slightly loopy. So I told him to mind-link Alpha Wesley to higher your dose which would flush the wolfsbane out of your system but it's too intense & draining for your human form & wolf so you knocked out" He explained standing up & pointing towards all these machines & tubes like I understood a word.

I silently nodded my head, "Anyways, you eat up & get some energy back in you. Jacob is still passed out & possibly will be for the next day. He had to keep going back & forth inside the room & was too close & the amount of energy he put in to get the pack safe I'm surprised he didn't pass out before getting here. He woke up for a few hours while you was passed out, his father briefly said bye & left" Beau said sorting the bedside table & placing my breakfast down.

"Beau, before you leave. Did anything else happen? My wolf is hiding my memory away from me" I asked confusedly trying to make sense of it all.

"Hmm not really, your wolf must be hurt & is trying to protect you from it. It was a little intense. However, you're still able to feel the pack bond right, your mate too?" He asked grabbing the clipboard at the end of my bed & waiting patiently for my answer.

"Oh yes, of course I can! Must be my wolf being stubborn like always. Thanks for letting me know, I'll just eat some oats" I lied straight through my teeth a wide smile on my face.

I could feel the pack bond, but not Wesley?

Beau had walked out, after nodding his head & left me to it. I used all the strength I could muster to contact Wesley but nothing was working!

A heavy feeling could be felt in my head, my wolf whined out before releasing my memories to me.

Everything was crystal clear, my outburst that I had. The last few words Wesley spoke before he left. So... he rejected me? My wolf completely collapsed, letting all her guard down & cried.

She was broken, so was I. But hurt & the betray I felt just seemed to overwrite my rejection. He saw me almost die, he watched me beg him not to reject me & he did exactly that? I guess the burden of constantly thinking about me must of irritated him. However, it all confirmed everything for me.

Me & Wesley, are nothing. Not anymore, not ever. I need to learn to get over it, accept it & move on... just how he has.

Pushing the food aside - because of the loss of appetite from learning the truth I left the room in my gown not before tying it from the back.

I followed through the corridors leading me to Jacob. Walking in the room, he was hooked up to all these machines. An oxygen mask over his face. I stood beside his bed & grabbed his hand.

"I'm sorry I put you through all of this, you don't deserve any of this stress. I don't know why you even agreed to stay behind but thank you for your loyalty. I'll be back hopefully by tomorrow morning that's if I'm not dead. But I love you & trust you to keep the pack safe" I placed a kiss of gratitude & appreciation on his head.

The same he'd used to do to me as kids, every time I'd overcome something he'd always tell me how proud he is of me. He might not be my brother by blood but he's my brother & he meant the world to me.

Leaving his room in a hurry, I headed home to change into some appropriate clothes.
