I knew what it was, it didn't take an idiot to figure it out. The shade was exact match to what I had just seen.

"Els, water" Alpha Wesley said handing me the cup. I took it out of his hand & just looked at him.

No remorse, no sorrow, no pain. He had a small grin on his face, a glint in his eyes. Happiness is what I saw. If you saw him right now you'd say the same thing. He looked content. Like he had everything, crouched down in front of me.

Acting like he cares with the lipstick stains of another females across his cheek.

I smiled at him, taking a sip of the water. Who am I to ruin his happiness? Who am I to force myself into another's life? A nobody. He didn't know me, he didn't have a history with me.

The only thing that bound us together was the mate bond, forcing us to be. He had no choice to like me. I was never an option to him, I was his fate. Something he couldn't control, something he couldn't stop from happening.

I am just a wolf with no mother & a dying father. A burden, my death could result into his which is the only reason why he bothers with me. He doesn't want to end up like my father.

I don't know what true love is, my father never expressed his emotions. Being the only child of an alpha makes you forget you're a child. You're moulded to be a leader.

But I felt this heavy feeling in my chest. As if though someone was holding me down. My body is mine but yet I can't control the way I feel. I can't control my movement.

The one person that was made to love me, was with another. I wasn't destined for love, that was the harsh reality.

"You good? You've been staring at me for a while now" his voice echoed around the room. Breaking me out of this darkness. His voice was like a light & like the weak person I am I followed it.

"Yeah, I was just thinking about Kacy" I mumbled putting the cup back. "Anyways, I'm going to train with her & have a shower. See you later Alpha" I said getting up from the chair. He was still in front of me.

The lipstick still smudged on his cheek. Mocking me, he might be my mate. But his heart is not mine. "Okay? Bye" he said brushing me off & heading back to his papers.

I left his room silently, not wishing to bump into anyone on my path. Slowly making my way into the room I've been staying in I went to the bathroom & locker the door.

It then hit me, the suddenly wave of tears. I felt pathetic, pathetic because I couldn't do anything. My wolf crying with me, she was hurt. The betray of a mate punctured her.

The one sided love scared me, I liked him. I liked him too much. It's every girls dream for their mate to be a literal prince. To treat you like his queen, his one. But it was not followed through.

I was hurt & being in such an unfamiliar environment did nothing to calm me.

Eventually my tears stopped, it was like I hit a random self realisation. The spike of emotions.

I had packed my bag to leave, deciding to act as respectable as I could. I was planning on having the dinner tonight & leaving.

He had left for a long time before, I should've taken that as an indication that he didn't like me. Sleeping in my bed on the nights only made his wolf happy to be close with his mate.

Eventually it hit 7pm. Time for lunch. I doubled checked myself before I left the room to ensure I didn't look like I had been crying. Making my way down I noticed Jenny & another girl setting up the table.

"You don't mind me sitting here a bit early do you? I'll be eating with the rest" I questioned not wanting to disturb them. Jenny shook her head. "No you're fine, I just won't be able to chat. We're in a hurry today" She said running into the kitchen.

After watching them run in & out of the kitchen & their refusal of letting me help they had set the table up. Everything was ready, one big meal. As if though they knew in advance that I was leaving.

"Luna, you're early" Beta Ryan said busting into the dining room. I cringed at the name he used. "I was hungry" I laughed at him. "A little too hungry, you've got a little hit of drool there" He said coming across to touch my chin. My hands went to follow his but a growl froze us both.

"Alpha Wesley" His bets greeted. Instantly moving his hand & stepping away from me. A glare was on Wesleys face. Which infuriated me, he had the nerve to allow another female to kiss him yet he gets possessive over a friend that was cracking jokes?

Both Hannah & Kacy broke the awkwardness by walking into the room. "This smells so good" Kacy spoke oblivious of the tension in the room. From the corner of my eye I could see Hannah taking shy glances to my Wesley.

Her eyebrows furrowed releasing that Wesley was looking at me. "Come on come on, I'm starved let's eat" Kacy said side stepping everyone & taking a seat.
