A huge bonfire was lit in the middle of the clearing behind the cabins. The freshmen were gathered not far from it, chatting excitedly about the ceremony that was about to occur. The seniors were amongst themselves as well waiting for Arthit and Bradley to compete their group so they could start.

It was an occasion to celebrate. The first years had gone through hardships to earn their place at the faculty. The hazers had done their best to teach them of the code of an engineer. They all had been through a lot to get to this point.

The head hazer gave his opening speech, thanking the seniors for their presence and hardwork and congratulating the first years for their dedication and perseverance to get to where they're at.

As the night went on, each first year step forward to get his gear from Arthit and the other seniors. One by one, they were congratulated.

A gear is a symbol of an engineer's heart. It always had been. They earned it for they gave their all. It symbolized who they are and what they were made of.

Some first years knew of what the gear stood for. They planned to make confessions. The ones close to Kongpob even asked him if he was going to confess give his gear to somebody. He just smiled and said, "Confessions aren't needed anymore. But yes, I'm giving it to somebody."

The alpha received countless teasing from Tew and the rest of the gang. The girls even looked at Arthit's way. They whispered among themselves and giggled when Arthit looked their way.

Kongpob knew that Maprang Prae about his relationship with Arthit. When he noticed them along with the ther other girls giggling while staring at Arthit, he suddenly got annoyed.

Leaving his classmates, Kongpob approached the omega. He subtly asked him to follow him to where he was walking to-- the side of one of the cabins where there's a railing. It was overlooking the side of the mountain. From there, one could see the a part of the road that leads to the resort.

"Hey." Arthit greeted his fiance as he stood next to him facing the railings.

"Hey," Kongpob replied. He peeked to where the bonfire was at before he stood closer to Arthit. He couldn't deny the jealousy that was creeping into his heart. He could feel its beat going haywire from the mix of emotions.

It had happened before but as an alpha, Kongpob is very good at handling his feelings. He could be angry but he could hold it in. He could be jealous and also held it in. He could be feeling deeply elated but he doesn't go screaming on his pillow trying to get if off his chest like his sisters would when they're too happy.

Right now, Kongpob was weighing on how to tell Arthit his feelings of jealousy, of gratefulness, of love. The night was very special. Only if he didn't see those girls giggling at his lover.

"Your silence is killing me, Kong. What is it?"

Arthit stepped closer to Kongpob, their shoulders now touching. He pursed his lips at the feeling of tiny tingly feeling from their bodies barely touching.

Kongpob let out a sigh as he held himself from wrapping his lover in his arms. "I have so many things to say," he said as he lowered his head, clasping his hands together above the railings.

"You can start by telling me that little glint of bitterness in your eyes I saw earlier," Arthit said. He was surprised how focused he was at his alpha in the midst of so many people. Then again, how could he take his eyes off him. He remembered the first day of school when all he could feel and see was Kongpob in the sea of new faces, the first years at the auditorium.

Arthit smiled to himself as he waited for Kongpob's answer with a cock of his brow.

"I... I was just jealous," Kongpob started off. "The girls were giggling when they looked at you earlier."

Arthit nudged at his alpha lightly. "They were looking at you and I both. I have a feeling they know something."

Kongpob's brows knitted as he looked to his side, balling his hands so he didn't unconsciously sneak an arm around his lover's waist. The night was beautiful and the sky was filled with stars. How nice it would be to embrace his lover under the moonlight.

"Knott told me that some of your other friends other than Maprang may know about us but we don't need to worry. They won't tell."

"Is that so," Kongpob said. "So not only Prae and Maprang know?"

Arthit shrugged. "Maybe."

"You're not worried?" Kongpob asked.

"I was," Arthit answered. He had been scared in the beginning. What if someone knew and ruined his family's peaceful life? He had thought about how to protect his son from a cruel society. He is the head hazer and he needed to uphold his reputation. He was overthinking. He is an omega, yes. It took him a while to internalize that he was more than what he was.

Kongpob's answer at competition was an eye opener. The alpha had shown him many times how much he could do and how much he could be--omega or not. Yet from time to time he would still think of how the society had built its hierarchy.

Omegas were seen as the lowest among all genders. Even if the university chancellor knew he was an omega, what would protect him from the whole population, he asked himself. Kongpob made him realize it didn't matter. He was happy with his family and of things come down to it, he'll just have to do what he could to be there for his family, with head up high.

"I'm not worried anymore," Arthit said. "Thanks to you."

Kongpob smiled as he looked at his lover who was now looking at him, too. "To me?"

"You speech at the competition," Arthit said. "Thank you."

"I should be thanking you," Kongpob said. "I made it through and now I have a gear to give you."

Arthit felt his cheeks heat up as Kongpob fished his gear out of his pocket. His heart skipped a beat at the smile Kongpob was wearing while he opened the bracelet so he could put it on Arthit's wrist.

"Will you take care of my heart?" Kongpob asked.

"So cheesy," Arthit said sheepishly. He held out his hand and let Kongpob wrap the bracelet on his wrist.

"Engineers are cheesy," Kongpob said.

Arthit pursed his lips as he stared at the bracelet on his wrist, shining a little under the moonlight. It wasn't as shiny as his engagement ring he wore on his necklace but it gave him as much happiness. Kongpob worked hard to get the bracelet for him. He was extremely delighted.

"I love you, Oon." Kongpob felt his own heart dance in excitement as he uttered those words.

Arthit cleared his throat as he looked away. He couldn't stop his heartbeat from going haywire. "I love you, too."
