CHAPTER 10: SNAKES

Ugh.

Look at them all chummy together....and kissing and ugh! Ariella thought contemptuously as she stared at Draco Malfoy and Elleighn Choi, the new couple hottest couple at Hogwarts.

Elleighn Charlotte Choi, a Slytherin, had nice brown hair that was unnaturally straight and gorgeous. She was smart, nice and a bubbly, happy-go-lucky kind of girl. If she didn't wear those green robes of hers, you'd never have guessed she was a Slytherin but a Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. But, like all Slytherins, Elleighn was mean if it came down to it. If someone pissed her off, she went off into bitch mode. Someone accidentally spills their Pumpkin Juice on her? Prepare to run and run hard.

Her chocolate brown eyes and her Korean features made her white skin look flawless. Overall, Elleighn – or Lee or Lottie (as she liked to be called) – was a nice, bubbly, slightly mean girl.

She even hung out with some Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs, although, ever since she and Malfoy became a couple, he told her to stop conversing with ‘The Enemies.”

So, in order to please her handsome and wealthy new boyfriend, Elleighn did exactly that. She ignored and jeered at her old friends.

Ariella was disgusted as she looked on at the couple. How could Malfoy bend that girl to his awful will? Although, Ariella had told Devon and Natalie that her feelings for Draco Malfoy had subsided, her feelings were slowly coming back – in the form of jealousy.

Ella looked at Draco and his girlfriend one last time before heading out of the Great Hall, pissed off and wanting to be the one that Draco looked at and kissed instead.

As Ella headed through the entrance of the Great Hall, she bumped into what she thought was a solid, male mountain and almost fell on the floor had it not been for the hand that caught her wrist.

The male mountain pulled her up and Ariella blushed. That male mountain she had called inside her head was in fact Kaden Malfoy. “Are you okay?” He asked smoothly, his smirk visible.

“Yeah,” Ariella replied somewhat distractedly. She noticed Kaden was in a particular good mood, like there was nothing that could dampen his high spirit. “You seem in an awfully good mood, today.”

Kaden just smiled smugly and the eyebrow that was pierced rose a little before settling back into place.

God, that’s sexy. Ariella thought before she realized what she was actually thinking.

“You’ve no idea.” He said, that smile still in place. “Any who, I’ve got to meet someone, right now. Be careful, Ariella, that you don’t bump into people.” Kaden called over his shoulder as he made his way to the Slytherin table and sidled up next to a reddish-brown haired witch, which Ariella identified as Veronica Brooks, cousin to Evangeline Ward, and a black haired guy with ice-blue eyes. He looked strangely familiar but for the life of Ariella, she couldn’t begin to wonder why the guy looked so familiar.

Pushing the thought out of her head, she went to the Gryffindor Common Room to rest and think.

Gryffindors hung about the Common Room and talked and chattered amongst their friends but to Ariella, all her fellow housemates’ talking were sounding like gibberish babble and started to give her a headache.
