Chapter 24

Trigger Warning- PTSD

John POV

I jump up, breathing fast. I look around and Alex is looking at me concerned "Are you ok?" He asks.

"Yeah, it's nothing" I reply running my hands through my hair, calming down a bit.

"John? You can tell me." He says making eye contact with me.

"I'm ok I promise, it was just a bad dream I swear, go back to sleep" I say kissing him on the forehead.

"Ok, Where are you going?" He asks as I get up.

"I'm just going the bathroom I'll be back in a sec" I walk into the bathroom and lock the door.

I sigh and sit on the floor. I know he said I could tell him when things like this happen but everything's finally Perfect between us I don't wanna cause any drama. I don't know what do anymore. I know Charles wasn't joking but I can't just leave Alex and Philip. This is just all to stressful.

I pick up my phone and check the time. 3:06am 26th of August. Great. my dad gets let out of jail tomorrow. What did I do to deserve this? I mean I know I'm a horrible person but still. I have no options, I either let Charles Kill Alex or Philip or both or I leave them I get back together with him. Or I could just not choose. I could just die. If Alex or Philip died I would probably do that. If I got back together with Charles he'd eventually kill me.

Maybe I should tell the police? But is it even illegal what he's doing? I get a text and look at it, it's from Charles.

Charles Lee: I'll be nice. I'll give you a month to decide, leave them or I kill them.

John: Fine.

I sigh and put down my phone. "John? Are you ok?" Alex asks. I stand up and walk out.

"Yeah I'm fine." We lie back in bed. "Hey Lexi? What would you do it we D-devoiced?" I ask nervously.

"What?! John do you want a devoice?!" He asks with panic in his voice, I try not to crying.

"No of course not. I've just got somethings on my mind." I reply and He relaxes but only a little.

"John if this is about your dad and tomorrow you don't need to be worried, remember he'll still be on probation for 2 years." He says in a comforting voice.

"Yeah your right I'm sorry, I'm just gonna go back to sleep. I love you." I kiss him the turn around and try to sleep when my phone dings.

"Who's texting you at 3am?" He asks. I pick up my phone.

Charles Lee: Hey don't be so rude or I might make it a week.

John: I'm sorry. Thank you.

"Uh it's just Peggy" I lie and put it on silent.

*The next day*

Alex POV

I get wake up around 7 and John's still asleep cuz it's a Saturday. I know I should but I look at John's phone, there's 3 messages but it doesn't say who from it just says they were delivered at like 4am.

I Grab my phone to text Peggy.

Running out of time⏳: Hey Peggy, Why were you texting John at 4am this morning?

ANDPEGGY💛: I wasn't, why would I be?

Running out of time⏳: Oh ok, it's no reason Thanks anyways.

ANDPEGGY💛: Anytime.

Why would he lie to me? What's he hiding?
