"ARU! NOOOOOOOOO!!!" The demons and The Sleeper vanished into thin air. With Aru. My sister. My strength, my soul sister, she was gone. I dropped to the ground and Dee Dee morphed into a compact and clattered on the ground. Everything ached. Aru... Aru... She was the only thing on my mind. I started crying nonstop. The tears formed a small puddle in front of me. Brynne looked shocked and small tears streamed down her face. Rudy had become a human again and his face was completely red and unreadable.

Aiden on the other hand was a mixture of confusion and sadness. He gripped Shadowfax in his hands tightly till his knuckles were white, staring at the spot that Aru had once been standing. His eyes were red and watery, like allergies but worse, like he was trying to hold back tears that were wishing to be let free.

The twins were both crouched down on the floor, hugging each other. They had only met Aru and she was gone. Sheela had woken up and had seen everything. Nikita looked like she couldn't even yell at us anymore.

"Pandavas." said a voice from behind. It was rich and melted into you like Lindor chocolate. Aiden and Rudy didn't mind correcting the voice. I twirled around, to see Arayani, the goddess of the forests. She hovered above the ground by just a few inches. Her face was calm and soothing, that I stopped crying and wiped my tears.

"Arundathi..." she looked at where Aru had once stood and faltered. "She... She wasn't thinking." She looked at me. "I'm sure you know that it is dangerous to only be listening to just your heart, or just your mind." I nodded. It always leads to bad things happening. I had learned that the hard way. The very hard way.

"She was vulnerable, and then, something.. something snapped. Something appeared in place. Something evil," My head snapped up and the word. Evil. It was her father. I knew it. Or... It could've been Aru herself. NO! What am I thinking? Aru? Evil? They can't even be put in the same sentence. Unless... UGH!

My glasses were wet from my tears. I took them off and wiped them with the end of my shirt. I put them back on.

"But... what if she did it at her own will?" I asked aloud. Everyone's attention snapped at me.

"Are you telling me... That you do not trust Aru?" asked Arayami.

"No, it's just that... Aru is the daughter of The Sleeper after all. She really did want her father, and-"

"Mini, what is wrong with you?!" Aiden snapped at me. "You think Aru would just abandon us all for her father. NO! That's NOT Aru!" I instantly regretted saying that. Brynne rushed to Aiden and pushed him back on the ground. She tried comforting him. Rudy was still standing still. He shook his head and ran to his cousin. No! Not Rudy!

"Mini, we never told you this, but there is something you should know," said Brynne. I looked up at her. "Remember when you got put in the land of sleep?" I nodded 'yes'. "Aru, she was devastated. She wanted to find you. She even almost abandoned the mission. She cared about you that much, Mini. And now...." she trailed off. Aru would've done that, for me? I shook the thought of her being evil out of my head.

"Guys, I'm sorry, I don't know why I was saying that I just..." I didn't know how to apologize. What would I say? I didn't know what would earn back their trust.

Then everything froze. The tears of Aiden were just frozen inches from the floor. Nikita's hair was flying mid-air. The only things that weren't frozen were Arayami and me. She floated towards me and put her hand on my head gently.

"You don't know what made you say that," she spoke softly, in a soothing way.

"No," I said.

"I could erase the memory for you," she said, emphasizing on 'erase'. My eyes widened.

"Really?"

"I offered Aru the same thing. Strangely, she said no. I thought you would think about what Aru would do?" she asked me.

"I-I don't want to lose their trust. If I do, I would have no chance at getting her back." I said.

"Daughter of Death, have you thought about what would happen if I didn't?"

"Yes," I replied.

"Do you understand why I said Aru wasn't thinking?"

I gasped. Aru wasn't thinking with her mind. Arayami was right. It wasn't Aru's fault. Aru was so vulnerable that she wasn't thinking. Aru was usually the clever one out of all of us but something had happened there.

Then she waved her hand over everyone. She floated back to her spot and winked at me. Time unfroze. Brynne was still comforting Aiden and so was Rudy. Hopefully, no one was mad at me. Was this cheating? I hated defying rules.

'Let's get Aru back.' Brynne had sent a mind message.

"Mini, you thinking what I'm thinking?" asked Brynne.

"Of course I am," I said with a grin. Nikita and Sheela looked blank. Then they slowly realized it. They nodded 'yes'.

"And while we're at it can we get some food, I'm kinda hungry," said Brynne, rubbing her stomach. I slapped my forehead.

"Yes, Brynne," I said.

"So, um, what are we talking about, because we are not able to read your mind link," said Rudy, interrupting our conversation. He was talking for both him and Aiden. Aiden had wiped away his tears and was standing up by himself. Rudy's leg was still injured so Aiden was supporting him. I smirked.

"Let's get our sister back."
